It’s the night of Christmas. Mid-evening where I live. Even on the west coast most of the day is done. So another Christmas has come and is (mostly) gone. If somehow you feel something was missing, you’re right. It seems the annual ‘War on Christmas’ RWNJ media screams about each year is over. Or a truce was called. And everyone in the news biz forgot to tell us about it.
This “War” has been an annual thing for a very long time now. In the era of Fox News and with other RWNJ outlets it became a regular part of reporting every December. Even mainstream outlets got in on it, if only to talk about what the RWNJ types were saying. So for anyone reading this I ask how many “news” stories have you read or heard about the ‘War on Christmas’ this year? I’ve seen exactly ONE. And the theme was that the “War” is apparently over! It’s worth thinking about why this sea change came about.
Ok, so there have been local fights and reporting about Christmas displays on public properties in various communities. But the proverbial Big Guns, the hosts at Fox and various influential “Christian” leaders who can get OpEds published in major outlets were strangely silent this year. Could it be they really have decided the b.s. about Trump being ‘the Second Coming’ (of Jeebus) is true? That there’s no more need to celebrate the birth of Christ? Will it be “Trumpmas” next year?
Sounds crazy doesn’t it. But how crazy? After Trump got nicked by a bit of shrapnel in Butler P.A. prior minor talk about Trump being “chosen” ramped up. Ok, so had that young man been even a halfway decent shot (or if he was hadn’t choked) Trump would in fact be dead. I for one find the notion that God reached down and spared him ridiculous. However tens of millions of (idiotic) people don’t. Worse, they have influential preachers and RWNJ news hosts not at all subtly suggesting Trump is ‘God like.’
Trump hasn’t come right out and said so but he might as well equate Jesus with John McCain – instead of not liking guys who didn’t get captured then not liking Saviors who allowed themselves to be crucified. Or having much respect for a father in heaven who would allow such a thing. (Like Trump wouldn’t allow it to happen to any of HIS kids to save his own fat orange ass!) You know, I’ll bet there are odds in Vegas on when Trump or someone with HUGE conservative influence steps up and openly states something along the lines of ‘God has retired and turned things over to Trump.’
I suspect many (way too many) in conservative circles are if not thinking this then wouldn’t resist the notion if clearly stated. Trump as the new ‘God.” Not that I think any of those (including Trump) actually would believe it. It’s just a means to have enormous power and influence. They don’t really believe in God, or the teachings of his son Jesus who’s birth we celebrate this time each year.
I do find it interesting that no big fuss was made about any War on Christmas this year. It will be interesting to see what happens NEXT year however. Will Moses Mikey Johnson back legislation to rename Christmas for Trump? And new “Bibles” printed with phrases changed, i.e. ‘through Trump all things are possible’ and so on? Well, it’s just speculation on my part, but perhaps one reason I’ve had such a nice Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this year is that my mind wasn’t sometimes fretting over a bunch of RWNJ media bullshit about the ‘War On Christmas.’

I do find it fitting, Denis, that the only reference I heard all year to Christmas under attack came today from the flat-out stoopidest man to ever to disgrace the Senate. Tommy Tuberville has, apparently, not celebrated Christmas in several years because it was gone…somewhere! But Trump has brought it back from…somewhere! And now Tuberville is a Christian again…I guess!!

The truth is that there never was any war on Christmas. It was all just RWNJs tak8ng offense at polite people wishing their Jewish friends Happy Holidays.
The fact that, until hundreds of years passed Jesus’s death, ‘christianity’ did not exist. ALL of the early believers of the Way…were Jews. ‘Christianity’ is a Jewish sect. Ironic isn’t it Alanis? Rain on your wedding day, or a fly in your wine ISN’T ironic. Where the religious folks are today in their collective delusions surely is ironic…tragically so. Just like Jesus was never born on our Christmas day, and some monk long ago miscalculated the year he was born, so the whole BC/AD calendar is provably wrong. We are blind people worshipping our blindness, and killing each other over it. B E A UTIFUL!!!
