I am torn between laughter and anger after reading this article. Ted Cruz doesn’t have a shred of human emotion, just like his boss. He has no compassion. He has nothing and doesn’t care who knows it. Let’s see why, from the Daily Beast :
The Swamp can exclusively reveal that Ted Cruz stayed in Greece and continued to sightsee as rescuers scoured the floodwaters in Central Texas that killed at least 100 people, including 27 campers and counselors from a summer camp. The Texas senator was spotted visiting the Parthenon in the Greek capital, Athens, with his wife, Heidi, on Saturday evening. That was a day after Camp Mystic announced that more than 20 girls had gone missing in the floodwaters.
What the bloody hell. First, Texas freezes, so he leaves, and now Texas has flooded, so he leaves. I think we can conclude that he does NOT have a shred of human dignity or empathy. That’s pretty much the only way I can express my rage at this guy! How in the hell could he Not Care?
On Saturday, July 5, at about 6 p.m. local time (11 a.m. ET)—more than 24 hours after the Guadalupe River burst its banks—Cruz and his wife were spotted by a Swamp spy lining up outside the iconic tourist site. “He was with his family and a lone security guard,” said Michael Rocchio, an eyewitness at the Parthenon. “As he walked past us, I simply said, ‘20 kids dead in Texas and you take a vacation?’ “He sort of grunted and walked on. His wife shot me a dirty look. Then they continued on with their tour guide.”
See what I mean? He’s on vacation, and back in his home state, more and more bodies are being found. Bodies, not survivors. He’s not participating in any of the efforts. He’s not there where it happened, so he could see it for himself. Nope, he goes on vacation. He doesn’t care. He doesn’t even pretend to care. But he never gets voted out!!! I don’t get it. I really don’t.
He told reporters he picked up his own daughter, Catherine, from a camp just down the road from Camp Mystic. “We picked up our youngest daughter [Catherine] last week from camp, five miles away,” he said. Cruz’s staff refused to offer comment on the record to The Swamp before publication but wanted to go off the record, to which The Swamp agreed, believing that Cruz’s aides were speaking to us in good faith. Our initial report, therefore, reflected their claim that it had been impossible for Cruz to get a flight until Sunday.
After we published, Cruz’s communications director, Macarena Martinez, posted on X that she had spoken to the Daily Beast and said, “A bulls— piece published by a bulls— rag outlet with no credibility, and with no regard for the tragedy in Texas. The Senator is on the ground in Texas and arrived as fast as humanly possible. I explained all of this to their two-faced reporter.” Notably, Martinez denied none of the facts of The Swamp’s revelations.
Uh. Huh. Didn’t deny. What a mess full of nonsense. Ted has a daughter that age, but he left. He went on vacation while this was all happening. Once again, he falls down on the job. I’m disgusted, but not really surprised. He’s good at that. Thanks for sticking with me!

His office claims he was working the phones with the folks back in Tex-Ass. Yet in addition to the sighting you’ve noted, he was also spotted at the Parthenon with his wife. Yes, it’s summer and tourist season so arranging a commercial fight would have been a bit tough but he’s a freaking U.S. Senator! He’s got a massive amount of PAC money at his disposal too. He could have gotten a seat on a private charter, or just rented a private flight for himself alone with some of it. It could easily be justified as campaign expenses. After the fiasco with his vacation with the family to Cancun during the deep freeze you’d think he’d know better this time. Apparently not.
So he’s left with the bogus claim did all that was humanly possible to get back home as soon as he could. My mind flashes to a moment from South Park where Kyle hears a crazy assed explanation from Baby Bush and Cheney in the Oval Office about 9/11:
He didn’t even try, is my guess. He doesn’t give a damn. It’s obvious. That video was choice! (I usually don’t like South Park.)
It boggles my mind, too that the voters here in Texas do not seem to care about his poor performance.
That is EXACTLY what I want to know. HOW does this man keep getting elected? He’s so slimy, and the conspiracy theories make me scream. I detest him as much as I detest RFK Jr, and that’s a *LOT*.
My question is, over our country’s Fourth of July holiday, why did Calgary Ted decide to visit Greece? Doesn’t Teddy’s own country–and state, as well–offer enough interesting sites?
