Since Trump decided to add the Gaza Strip to the places the United States would take over reaction both at home and abroad has pretty much been ‘He wants to do WHAT?’ Just as a broken clock is right twice a day Trump sometimes is right, in this case saying much of the Gaza Strip will need to be rebuilt. I still believe Israel had every right to defend itself and go after the Hamas leaders and fighters who carried out that brutal terrorist attack and then took hostages. If there’s a hell I hope an especially bad spot exists for them, and before beginning their journey upon dying they suffered greatly before their deaths. I do however have a big problem with how Israel went about fighting the war so yes, the Gaza Strip is as Trump says a “hell hole.”
Self-professed real estate developer Donald Trump is decidedly NOT the person to create and oversee rebuilding Gaza. The U.S. would have to establish a permanent military presence there. While some hard right Israelis might love the idea I’m not so sure they’d like the part about Gaza becoming U.S. territory as Trump says should be the case. In fact the more people in Israel think about it the more they’ll hate giving away even a small part of it (and there’s not much to begin with) to anyone. Including the United States without which Israel would have ceased to exist longer than a few weeks or months in the first place. No, I don’t think Israelis will in the end give up any bit of their country, and that includes Jewish people as much as Palestinians. The secular ones too, of which there are far more than many realize. What we call Israel, the “Holy Land” (Holy in fact to three major religions) has been fought over for THOUSANDS of years. Long before Christianity and then a few centuries later Islam were established. EVERY SQARE FOOT has been fought over.
Of anyone reading this is there anyone who believes once this Trump proposal has sunk in Israel will roll over and say ‘Fine. It’s yours to do with as you will Mr. Trump.’ I sure as hell don’t think so. In fact they’ll raise holy hell. (pun intended) As badly as hard core Israelis want Palestinians “cleansed” from Israeli soil they’ draw the line at handing over part of it. However Trump has a dream, but I think it happens to be a bigger dream than ‘only’ taking over Gaza complete with an ‘official’ Trump Tower and apartment buildings with his name plastered in gold letters on them all over the place.
No, I think Trump has a much more significant piece of Israeli real estate in mind for a Trump Tower. He wants a Trump Tower JERUSALEM. And not just anywhere in that city holy to three religions. He wants it on the holiest spot of all – Temple Mount! Trump hasn’t said so but I swear that thought is bouncing around in the spaces in his head where brain matter used to be. Think I’m crazy? Well, read on as I make my case.
Sure, Elon Musk was huge in helping Trumpty get back in our White House. It wasn’t just the money but his social media platform which provided a vast sum in “in-kind” contributions via changes to the platform to promote Trump and trash Biden and then Harris. It was enough to get FaceBook/Meta to follow suit. However in the end voters still had to go out and cast votes. A HUGE voting bloc Trump has always needed happen to be… Evangelical “Christians.” (the quotes are because since these people REJECT the teachings of Christ whatever they call themselves they sure as hell aren’t Christian!) The thing about fervent Christians and this goes beyond those Evangelicals is that they believe when Jesus returns Israel will become Christian. Any living there who don’t covert will be cast into hell!
I’ve always marveled at the alliance between hard right Jewish people in Israel and their counterparts here in the U.S. and American Christianity, at least the conservative Republican version. If any Jewish person in Israel, this country or any other believes that should Jesus return (and he’s considered a great prophet in Judaism, just not the Messiah) Israel will remain Jewish is out of their freaking mind. Perhaps the leaders in the nutjob Christian and Jewish camps secretly see it as an ‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend’ situation with Islam and Palestinians in particular as the enemy. AND that when the time comes God will anoint THEIR religion as the ‘winners.’ Who knows what goes on in these people’s minds?
Here’s what I do know. The people we know as Palestinians and Jews are effectively two tribes descended from the same Abraham so many thousands of years ago. Both have lived on that land going back all that time and each has a legitimate claim of ancestral roots. Roots that make some country like ours which hasn’t quite even been around for 250 years fetuses in comparison. The world at large has always known this, which is why when the State of Israel was formed and the United States led the way being the first to recognize it it was quickly accepted into the United Nations.
There were however some conditions. From the outset the West Bank was set aside for a Palestinian homeland. Working out details of resettlement across the Jordan River would be difficult of course but that WAS the agreement and plan. And from almost day one Israel began breaking its end of the bargain. So Palestinians and Arab countries in the region got pissed. You know how things have unfolded since. Whenever progress gets made someone on one side or the other mucks it up just like always seemed to happen in Northern Ireland for so long.
Whatever possessed Americans of Palestinian heritage to go and vote for Trump and in more places than Dearborn escapes logic. Ok, they were pissed that Biden and then Harris wouldn’t ‘disavow’ Israel. Pull our Ambassador and diplomatic mission or whatever. And they thought TRUMP would be better? Multiple times every day I find myself wishing I had a supply of whatever drugs they were on. Even before this latest Trump scheme I was seeing articles here and there about how since the election they were experiencing regrets. I can assure them they will feel much, much worse over time. Maybe even open the door to ICE agents with a paper saying their citizenship has been revoked and they are headed to the airport to be deported to who the hell knows where!
But I digress. Trump really thought he had a great idea about taking over Gaza. Even some in the GOP are horrified at the consequences and trying to help get it walked back. Alas, the idea is now there just like the dream of Trump Tower Moscow and we know, we KNOW once Trump gets an idea in his head like that he’ll never let go. But I’m convinced Gaza is a mere crowbar to him. He doesn’t say so but given his complaining about how much the U.S. has invested in NATO since WWII I’m willing to bet someone added up how much aid has gone to Israel.
Trump is exactly the type to look at what is a vast sum and say ‘For THAT tiny little country? Hell, we’ve bought and paid for it many times over. It’s OURS!’ And his Evangelicals will be thrilled to finally be in control of the Holy Land. THEY would see a Trump Tower plopped down on Temple Mount, especially on the site of the Al-Asqua Mosque (from which Mohammed is said to have made his flight on a horse to ‘paradise/heaven’ to meet with Allah himself) as the perfect spot. Jews of course will be given the chance to convert to Christianity, and if they refuse be kicked out. But the entire notion of Israel as a Jewish homeland will be as dead as our Constitution if Trump gets his way.
Using a U.S. takeover of Gaza as a springboard to take over all of Israel and in turn getting a literal “Christian Army’ of conservative, gun owning fanatics is just the kind of thing Trump wants and NEEDS. The enormous military and diplomatic consequences would take multiple articles to address. However such things are of no concern to Trump. He’s too simple minded, greedy and self-centered to think about anything more than his own wants or needs at any given time.
As those who read my work know I have a weird fantasy life. Rather than sexual stuff they are about politics and the good of our country. The newest one is now at a live press conference having some reporter, a well known one AND who is ‘out of f**ks to give’ asking something like: ‘Sir, while you say you want to have the U.S. take over and develop Gaza isn’t that just the beginning of what you have in mind? When are you going to announce plans to also take over the Temple Mount and build a Trump Tower there?’ Now THAT would be a spectacle, the outrage from Trump, the reaction of other journalists and of course the aftermath to watch! Just remember someday when Trump Tower Jerusalem is announced you heard it here on Politizoom.com first.

I’m not convinced you’re wrong but, I think all the wild and crazy crap like this is Trump flooding the zone to distract from his dismantling of the government for the benefit of himself and the other oligarchs. Trump and his surrogates, particularly Vance and Johnson declaring that he has the right to ignore the judiciary is a declaration that the republic has been terminated and Trump is an absolute dictator. that’s a big deal and people would notice and not be happy about it, even a lot of magas. even Trump may understand that he doesn’t have complete enough control yet for that.
