The Overton Window stretches to accomodate changes in politics. That’s its very nature. But then along comes a senile former TV game show host and throws a window through the thing. That’s where we stand the day before Election Day, 2024. The contrast between two candidates has never been greater. Kamala Harris is a vivacious, articulate, brainy woman with a vision whereas Donald Trump….I think hearing him tell it is better than any descriptors I could list.
I personally find his comment, “I shouldn’t have left,” ominous, because I have no doubt whatsoever that he fully intended to stay in the White House. As a matter of fact, it would not surprise me one bit if we found out later that Ivanka or somebody close to Trump had to actually explain to him that if he tried to stay in the White House he would simply be removed by the Secret Service the day that Joe Biden took the oath of office.
Trump is not well. Nobody sane talks about pointing “nine guns” at a former congresswoman’s face, merely because the congresswoman in question had the balls to stand up to him and oppose his traitorous ways.
It also should come as a warning that Trump will not leave office in 2028 should he end up winning, although I see slight chance of that.
The plain reality is this: the GOP is disgusted. They may not be broadcasting it, obviously they’re not going to, but they see the handwriting on the wall. That’s one reason why the conspiracy theories about “flipped votes” are being ginned up already by the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Greene has already come out and said that early voting constituents have told her that their votes were “flipped by machines.”
So expect a certain amount of that nonsense. But here’s the stark reality: if, on election night, the voting trend is clear and obvious for Kamala Harris, Team Trump and his toadies are only going to look stupid claiming that nefarious doings are robbing them of what is theirs. I don’t doubt that they will do it, but they will look stupid doing it. So get ready for Alex Jones and his pals to make a mockery of the election.
Trump has four rallies on calendar for today. Let’s see if he’s hiding under a hat or if its possible to actually see his face today. Not that that’s a desirable thing to see, but hey, look on the bright side: we’re seeing the last of it. Once this sick bastard is gone for good, America will be back.
Then we can watch the next order of business, which will be the rebuilding of the GOP from the ground up. That will be something to observe.

I would seriously have to stop reading or watching the news, and I don’t live in the USA but I do have friends and family who do. Here in the UK we finally got rid of our horror of a so-called government (but not before they’d done some horrific damage – Brexit) but we had the highest number of votes for the Reform party ever, and now we have a Reform Member of parliament, Nigel Farage: the most odious toad if ever there was one. We have to hope it stops there. Wishing you all the very best.
Once again, it seems the republicans are looking to the democrats to clean up their mess and do what they don’t have the guts to do.
Greene should be forced to either back up her comment with solid evidence or to retract her statement as a baseless lie.
Then, she needs to be removed from Congress for her anti-American behavior.
Her district is very safe and right-wing. I do wish the Atlanta paper would demand she show some of het “evudence” and then call her on het bullshit If Harris carries GS it will depend on how many African-Americans turn out to vote. I cannot understand why younger Black.
