Steve King is a real piece of work. He’s almost a self-parody at this point. His racist views earned him the censure of Congress in January, after he was quoted as saying, “white nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?” and Kevin McCarthy stripped him of all his committee assignments. Now, King is advocating an all-inclusive abortion law, that would not even allow abortion in the case of rape or incest. Just like in Game of Thrones, King explains how rape and incest is normal and a part of everyday life. Des Moines Register:

“What if we went back through all the family trees and just pulled out anyone who was a product of rape or incest? Would there be any population of the world left if we did that?” he said in Urbandale, Iowa. “Considering all the wars and all the rapes and pillages that happened throughout all these different nations, I know that I can’t say that I was not a part of a product of that.”

The Kiron Republican was discussing his defense of not allowing exceptions for rape and incest in the anti-abortion legislation he tried to pass in Congress. Republican leadership had prevented bills he sponsored on banning abortions from advancing through the House, despite GOP support for the measures, King said.

Just because a conception happened in bad circumstances doesn’t mean the result isn’t a person, King, who is Catholic, argued.

“It’s not the baby’s fault for the sin of the father, or of the mother,” he said.

There’s no question King was born under a bad sign with a blue moon in his eye, victim of rape or incest or not. Interesting how Republican “family values” have morphed since the days of Reagan, isn’t it?

For the record, King’s doubling down on his earlier racist comments, saying that the United States is the “flagship of Western civilization.” He should go run that idea past Donald Trump. Trump thinks that any reference to western thought or civilization pertains to hippies in California, so their conversation should be one for the books. I can’t wait.

    • I’m sorry, he wears the gold jewelry any paid-for Congressperson should, we just can’t seem to shake the full blown bastard out of our state … I think the GOP is starting to question the wisdom of their investments, he, like DJT is starting to stink up the place enough to even unseat Moscow Mitch, just because we all are getting saturated with all the old rhetoric crap from the simple minded ….

  1. Do you think Steve K. works at being abhorrent – or does his icky hate mongering just naturally ooze from his dna? Is his behavior the result of altered brain chemistry? Is it (well-deserved) self-loathing that he projects onto others in the guise of racism and sexism? Or does he actually cultivate a psychological garden of hate in his head – endlessly reaping a fresh supply? The burden of carrying around such dark thoughts is manifested in his physical being which becomes more robotic and less humane with each iteration. His is the face of utter moral disintegration.

    • My take on it is that King is a dinosaur. He’s just naturally racist and sexist. He was born too late. He would have been deliriously happy in Congress in the 50’s or earlier and they would have been happy with him too. He’s not a thinker of the 21st Century, or even close.

    • I’m not sure, but it may because of an un-diagnosed TIA that disconnected the right hemisphere of his brain, obviously anybody that says the things he does, cannot possibly be in his right mind …. /s

  2. ““It’s not the baby’s fault for the sin of the father, or of the mother,” he said.”

Unless they are children of refugee immigrant families, right you Republican fascist assclown???

    *seethes*

    • This is what I mean about this man. He’s a walking self-parody of an a$$hole, racist, sexist Republican. If you wrote a character like him, nobody would believe it, it’s so on-the-nose.

      • The scariest part is that this individual has enough constituents in his district that agree with his moronic psycho-babble to get elected.

        • This may be another question of getting out the vote. If the people who didn’t vote for King or anybody else go out and vote this time, that could take care of him.

  3. Of course, if he doesn’t want children to suffer for the sins of their parents (just kidding – actually all Republicans love to see kids suffer, for whatever reason or no reason, just because it’s fun for them to watch) – serious,ly, if he doesn’t, then he needs to start doing something about climate change. Not that it isn’t already too late for that – every child born from here on out will suffer because those of us already born did not do enough to stop climate change – even he will suffer if he lives long enough – not that he will realize his part in it.
