Ha. Busted. Guess what, tRump and Tulsi and Co? DENMARK NOTICED. The wonderful WSJ article was brought to someone’s attention there, and moved up the ladder, and Denmark is Not Happy. Did you really think you could (essentially) deny the article and it would fade in the distance? Nuh, uh. You could be so lucky, but you aren’t. Jumping off Ursula’s piece of yesterday here, with an update. From The Guardian:
Denmark has said that it will summon the US ambassador to Copenhagen to respond to reports that US intelligence agencies have been ordered to increase espionage in Greenland.
The Danish foreign minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, said on Wednesday that he was concerned about the report in the Wall Street Journal, telling the Ritzau news agency: “It worries me a lot, because we don’t spy between friends.”
Speaking on his way to a meeting in Warsaw, he added: “I can’t know if it’s true because it’s in a newspaper. But it doesn’t seem to be strongly rejected by those who speak out. That worries me.”
High-ranking officials working under Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, issued the instruction to agency heads in a “collection emphasis message”, the Journal reported.
WHAM. You (We? Ugh) are BUSTED. Denmark is pretty damn unhappy with your spying on Greenland. You ought not be doing things like this. That’s just tacky – and illegal! You need to be more careful with your directives. I don’t give a damn about wanting Greenland. Spying on an ally and fellow NATO member? That has the potential for putting the US in a world of hurt.
The US screwed up with JD’s and Usha’s visit to there a while back. Remember, he couldn’t visit anywhere but the base because Greenland emphatically did not want to see him. And then he fired the leader of the base for something she said that was misinterpreted. Greenland does not want the US there! Denmark does not want the US in Greenland! Period. Now, more from The Guardian:
Trump, who has mused since his first presidency about the possibility of possessing Greenland, refused to rule out seizing the 836,000 sq mile territory by force in an interview with NBC that was broadcast last weekend.
“I don’t say I’m going to do it, but I don’t rule out anything,” he said. “We need Greenland very badly. Greenland is a very small amount of people, which we’ll take care of, and we’ll cherish them, and all of that. But we need that for international security.”
Bullsh*t bullsh*t bullsh*t. “And all of that”. What in the h*ll does THAT mean? Oppress them like we’re helping do with Israel? Try and remove them? Take over governing? They’re going to have a hard time with that. Greenland AND Denmark will emphatically resist. I don’t even have to guess on that point. And WHAT is it with El Presidente Imbécil’s obsession with the island, anyhow?
Seasoned intelligence operatives say the Arctic island of about 56,000 inhabitants has not historically been a target of US espionage activity.
The move will further alarm Denmark, a US ally and NATO member, which has repeatedly vowed that the island is not available for sale or annexation. The country is planning to spend $1.5bn to protect Greenland, which has autonomous status under Denmark’s constitutional monarchy.
Folks need to stop with the spying shizzle. That’s bad, and it’s bad press. By the way, did you notice that, in her statement, Tulsi didn’t deny the directive? “Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard accused the Journal of attempts to “undermine” President Trump “by politicizing and leaking classified information”. Heh. And ha. That can be useful. But in the meantime, the US needs to explain itself to Denmark. The attempted spin for that should be … interesting. Thanks for sticking with me!
*****And now, please be so kind as to read a very special request from our awesome boss******
Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

This is so stupid. If you are seriously going to launch a spyig operation, you don’t announce “We are now about to launch a spying operation.” Kind of gives it away, doesn’t it? Which is why I think this, like everything else they do, is more red meat for the base than anything else. I’m not trying to minimize it, but I think this is more of Trump’s dream world. People like Vance, though, may actually be serious.
On the other hand, the U.S. attacking Greenland is NATO member state attacking another NATO member. Somehow I don’t think that’s gonna fly.
Or maybe they (members of this administration) truly are THAT f**king stupid!
