The news has been rather enjoyable lately. It has provided much for us to discuss. It’s great when the DoJ gets caught flat-footed. There’s a good reason why. They believe they are in control of a case and will have an easy victory. But as Bondi and now Blanche have discovered, it’s never that easy. Never assume. Never, ever assume. My regards to Raw Story:

The Justice Department has been accused of violating grand jury secrecy rules in a scathing filing by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The longtime extremism watchdog, which is being prosecuted by the Trump administration on charges that it defrauded their donors through the use of paid informants embedded within hate groups, was hit with a superseding indictment on Tuesday.

Oh, yes, another bogus filing by the DoJ. They’re still desperately trying to win a case for Trump. Their luck has been non-existent. Their AGs have gotten in trouble, although Jeanine Pirro is her own train wreck. Cases are being thrown out all over the country. Every time it’s a time for celebration. Trump’s Revenge Tour™ has yet to get out of the gate. Make that half a step out because they managed to get James Comey indicted for seashells.

But in the filing on Wednesday evening, SPLC attorneys accused acting Attorney General Todd Blanche of blasting out a copy of the superseding indictment to the press before it was even docketed — which is not allowed under court rules.

Oof. That’s a problem. That’s a big, big problem, or rather, it implies a big problem. Someone *cough* Blanche was a little too quick on the draw here. One would hope he’s going to learn his lesson from what happened with Bondi. Never assume, and don’t make Trump look bad, or he will be gone. And he will not have a job for you. He’s going to get kicked to the curb if he’s not careful. The way Trump is these days, with the mind going away, it’s a dangerous balance. Bondi got fired for the Epstein files. One could wonder if Blanche will release the rest or not. He’s busy with lame indictments now.

The filing asked the judge to order Blanche and his associates “to show cause to explain their conduct here, and hold a hearing to conduct targeted fact-finding to determine whether to impose appropriate sanctions against those involved.” Already, the SPLC case has attracted intense controversy, as Blanche was accused of publicly lying about the case by saying on Fox News the group had not shared the information it got from informants with law enforcement — something the DOJ admitted it had done in court filings.

BOOM. Sloppy work on Blanche’s part. It seems he’s forgotten what the rules of law are, because this one is sloppy work; it really is. After all the shenanigans with Ghislaine and after the errors his former boss made with Epstein, he certainly should have learned from the mistakes of both Noem and Bondi. His job could vanish in a flash. Or rather, he could get booted. What is it that every case seems like we could have done better than an actual lawyer? That’s so wrong.

See you soon!

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
