Ron Johnson, also known as Rojo, both for the letters of his first and last name and the fact that he’s another one of these guys who loves him some Putin (he spent one 4th of July in Moscow, if you doubt my word) must be upset with Tommy Tuberville. I say that because before Tuberville came on the scene, Johnson was hands down the stupidest senator in the Senate, if not in the history of the Senate. So Johnson may want to regain the title for himself. His idiotic comments today on right-wing media may get him back to the number one position.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) argued against “effectively” governing and said the Senate should never pass another piece of legislation.

During a Monday interview on Real America’s Voice, Johnson was asked about a bill that temporarily funded the government.

“You know, internally here, inside the bubble, you hear Republicans say, you know, we need to get a result,” Johnson complained. “You know, we need to effectively govern. To me, that’s almost code words for we’ve got to do Democrat-lite.”

Johnson said he preferred a version of conservatism that believed “we have to stop this madness.”

“So there’s a fair amount of stopping that’s being required here, and I think we’d be far better off if we never passed another piece of legislation,” he remarked. “Obviously, you’ve got to fund the government, but we need to fund it at a far lower level.”

If you want to hear the video of this, hit the link above. It’s one of these, you have to see it to believe it, moments. If I understand his “thesis” correctly, he’s saying that basically stonewalling is the new GOP plan — or the old GOP plan. He makes reference to William F. Buckley and I don’t think Buckley ever meant that the way to govern was to stop passing legislation and sit at a dead standstill. I may have to go back and reread what he had to say.

The GOP, at least this year’s version of the House of Representatives, has proven to be effective at doing only one of two things: stonewalling and frivolous impeachments. That’s it. Even one of their own, Chip Roy, said that the House had accomplished nothing. It’s a shame that Roy threw his lot in with the doomed Ron DeSantis, because he was at least one Republican making sense.

But it’s good of Senator Johnson to come out and telegraph to the American people what we can expect in the future from the Grand Old Party: crickets. And then when our credit rating in the world continues to suffer and our credibility, likewise, we can point to this brave new philosophy of the Republican party as a key element.

If some new conservative party is going to form, it would be really nice if those wheels could get into motion, sooner, rather than later.

  1. Someone needs to let Rojo the Clown know this important little bit of info: republicans do not have control of the senate. Should he stupidly suggest utilizing the filibuster for this purpose I also suggest this: all it takes is a majority, not super-majority to change a senate rule, which is what the filibuster is, so abusing it in this manner might just get all dems on board to get rid of that f*cking piece of sh*t once and for all.

I hope this gets all kinds of ad time especially in WI so this clown can be sent on his way. What a f*cking moron.

Wow. Governing effectively is like dealing with facts – something Democrats do, apparently, well enough that it’s their ‘trademark’.

Just what, exactly, is the purpose of being in government for? When a country sits before you needing it done effectively, why would you not?

Straight from their own mouths, they’re not fit to govern, they don’t want to govern, that’s something Democrats do.

What a great message for voters to mull over.

  3. He reminds me of a quote by Hunter S. Thompson about Nixon…feel free to fill in different names as it apply to the Maga crowd:
If there were any true justice in the world, Richard Nixon would be in the belly of a hammerhead shark headed south of Easter Island.

  4. I don’t read text in all caps. It’s very inconsiderate to the reader, and serves no purpose. Most people just Bold the text they want to emphasize. You seem very fond of this odd choice. You do it often. I guess I need to get my news somewhere else from now on.

    • The authors here don’t type all that in caps. Our site host’s software does it when we block out a portion of a source article. You aren’t the only person who’s commented on it but there’s nothing we can do except Ursula can periodically ask them to change the software. Sorry. I hope you (and others) will bear with us.
