I have finally figured out the sci fi/fantasy ending to the Saga Of Donald Trump. Stay with me now. I got the idea from a headline in Mediaite, where Rick Wilson says during an interview that the MAGA troops would vote for Trump “if he was dead or in jail — and even in those cases, he might win the primary.” So that got me to thinking: what if Trump is found liable in all the civil matters in which he’s involved? What if he is found guilty in all the criminal matters? What if he is going to prison absotively, posolutely for sure? And what if he has one too many Trumpburgers and the cholesterol finally kills him and he’s gone?
Okay, that should end it, right? No. Maybe Trump will STILL be elected. And maybe his vice president, whomever that will be, will take over, but not really. When I say “not really” I mean that s/he will pretend to be getting spirit messages from the elected-departed president.
The MAGAs will form a religion around the dead Trump. All some AI genius needs to put together is a hologram or two of Trump, appearing in different places after his death. And if he’s in fact buried somewhere, rather than cremated, just show that his tomb is empty, right? Wait three days after his death to proclaim that these visions have started and that Trump predicts he will one day return? Are you with me now? Cheeto Jesus. The Religion.

If the MAGAs are crazy enough to buy money with Trump’s face on it, thinking it’s real, why would they not be crazy enough to listen to a vice president who claims to be channeling the dead? Think about it.

Trump still has a stranglehold over the Republican Party. I have to plan for the worst case scenario. The worst case scenario is that Donald Trump will be the nominee in the Republican Party once again. There is very there are very few paths to get a Ron DeSantis or any other of these jokers in the in the field over the finish line in the primary.
I mean, Trump has to be dead or in jail. And even in those cases, he still might win the primaries.
And Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump, though, presents a great Lincoln Project opportunity messaging moment and a leverage moment because the more they fight, the normal Republicans who are flocking back to Ron DeSantis in hopes of getting rid of Donald Trump, all those normies now have to face a really hard fact. The guy they thought was going to save them can’t. And and the guy they rejected and said, Oh, Trump’s too much. He’s too extreme. He’s too crazy. He tried to overthrow the government. He tried to murder Mike Pence. He ordered an attack on the Capitol.
And and they may be sick of Trump, but DeSantis actually presents a worse set of options for them. But if I can keep them fighting as long as humanly possible, if I can make it as bloody and painful and loud and noisy as possible, there is a way to split off more of those voters than we were split than we got off in 2020. We modeled it depending on the state, between three and 8% of Republicans in 2020. Given the current circumstances, our numbers are between seven and 11% in these key states now. We, the pool has expanded because DeSantis is an insane authoritarian.
DeSantis is crazy and he believes in revenge. He’s the Florida version of Viktor Orban.

Based on the engineering schematics of the Starship Enterprise from Star Trek – The Next Generation! It will of course be christened Starship TRUMP (giant gold letters of course). (Yes, it’s unusual to name a ship, especially a major one after a living person, much less one still serving in the military including as Commander in Chief but as everyone knows rules don’t apply to Trump) Trump already had the contents of his “very fine brain” uploaded into the ship’s computer, and so even if dead he can rule from the Holodeck which can as you know replicate anything – like the Oval Office or any other WH setting and have lifelike people!

MAGAts hate Star Trek.and since OST having a diverse crew,and especially a Black.woman as a,bridge officer. It didn’t improve with ST:NG which was even more diverse. I suspect ST:Discovery gave them.hives. A gay couple. A non-binary couple. A Black woman as captain. Another Black woman played by Stacey Abrams as head of the Federation. Their few brain cells likely exploded.
At 73, I fell in love with ST. I grew up reading sf and am.a published author of fantasy short stories. Unfortunately, I spent 12 years in GA,where no one reads much of anything.
Well, thinking about what I wrote it’s pretty obvious the Starship Trump would meet an ugly end. For the obvious reason you alluded to. Not only would the crew consist only of white people, but as with anything in Trump World white people who’s primary qualification is complete devotion to him. Things like knowing sh*t, especially about the job they are supposed to be doing wouldn’t factor in at all. In fact, it might keep them off the ship in the first place! After all, the time and effort spent keeping everything up to snuff in the unforgiving environment of space would mean less time for worshiping Trump and that simply wouldn’t do!
I’m a big fan of both the original Star Trek and eventually got into TNG as well. I even have The Drumhead episode on my DVD. But for the purposes of this little exchange, I’m thinking of the movie Galaxy Quest. I don’t know if you’ve (or others reading this) have seen it but the aliens who made the ship did their best to get everything right and just how the “crew” (again, if you don’t know the humans they got to come aboard were from a Sci-Fi TV series and the aliens didn’t know that!) had things on their “ship.” Including their version of a transporter, which was designed to be operated by humans, specifically “Tech Sgt. Chen” which they deduced from watching his hand movements. Before transporting the Captain out of a dangerous sistuation on the planet below, a “test” was agreed upon and the “Pig Lizard” as they called the creature trying to kill their Captain was transported from the surface with disastrous results. It arrived on the transporter pad alive but “inside out”, and then it explosed showering everyone with gross chunks of it! Wouldn’t it be great for the Starship Trump’s transporter to do the same – with Donald Trump?

Every election I have ever heard of/read about where a candidate dies before the election, that person is, for all general purposes, out of the election: this has happened you know and the dead person did not win the election. People who die while in office do not retain the office so I cannot see a different outcome for someone running for the nomination.
This was not even a stupid brain exercise, merely stupid. I’d think Rick would have better things to think about.
