Wow, people are leaving. We’re losing good talent with the proper skillsets to help Americans – but we can’t protect them. Antivaxxers rule. I hate to see that with the CDC. They have been a pillar of excellence for the country with no political biases. But if Kennedy doesn’t like what you’re doing, you’re out. From CNN:
The inconsistencies in the CDC are hurting the public. Kennedy is an antivaxxer, and he is making a huge mess. He’s trying to push the agenda that they cause autism. What a bunch of hooey. Let’s see something about the confusion in the CDC.
Dr. Susan Monarez, who was sworn in as director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on July 31, has been removed from the position, the White House said Wednesday. Several high-level veteran agency officials resigned after word spread about her departure, leaving the CDC leaderless at a perilous time. HHS has not named an acting director to lead the CDC. Morale, which was already low after deep staff cuts this spring, plummeted after a gunman opened fire on the CDC’s main campus in Atlanta on August 8, pocking the buildings with hundreds of bullet holes and killing DeKalb County Police Officer David Rose. Shortly afterward, a further 600 employees got official termination notices.
Morale is not doing well. It may not be doing at all. Deep cuts to the CDC generate a whole slew of issues. What do they do now? I’m fairly certain there is pushback on vaccines, and that’s just the beginning. What about what they are doing for medical knowledge now? The NIH funding has been withdrawn (thanks, Trump, you asshole). They are stripping the CDC to the bones. No one can work like that! So many people have to try to do everything with other employees gone. Hello, high stress? I hear you’re coming by.
The exiting agency leaders described censorship, communication failures, and the weaponization of public health by the US Department of Health and Human Services in resignation letters, social media posts, and statements from attorneys. Attorneys Zaid and Lowell said in their statement that “Secretary Kennedy and HHS have set their sights on weaponizing public health for political gain and putting millions of American lives at risk.” “When CDC Director Susan Monarez refused to rubber-stamp unscientific, reckless directives and fire dedicated health experts, she chose protecting the public over serving a political agenda. For that, she has been targeted,” they wrote. “This is not about one official. It is about the systematic dismantling of public health institutions, the silencing of experts, and the dangerous politicization of science.”
Bingo. There ya go. It’s about killing the CDC and other health agencies. This will not make America healthy, no matter what Robert F Kennedy Jr says. All the good work that’s been done by the CDC has been, essentially, thrown away. If this continues, everything will be shut down, and then what the hell we had for all the medical knowledge will be lost. Yea, what the hell.
Let’s lose more important medical knowledge. Let’s send the country back to the Dark Ages. I wish NOT, but I’m not RFK Jr. He’s a walking, talking idiotic pseudo-leader of HHS, and I’m worried about the people still there as well as US people.

Yea, that’s effed up. We need to get RFK Jr to learn what reality is. He threw away a bunch of talent because they weren’t antivax. We’ll be seeing that soon. Susan Monarez, Dr. Debra Houry, Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, and Dr. Dan Jernigan. All gone because of yet another idiot cabinet member. They were agency veterans whom staffers said were well-liked and trusted. So what insanity will happen next? Who knows these days? It could be anyone in the Trump scheming cabinet. And again, 3 years and 5 months. Practice your escape plans. Practice your sensibility. It’s the people of this country who need to be prepared for everything they can think of.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. Unfortunately, the punishment for such nihilism often comes slowly. It is an admittedly hackneyed expression about the frog in the pot that is being warmed up. [It unfortunately makes me wonder how we learned that … … couldn’t they have mercifully killed the frog?] Anyway, with the goldfish memory of our (anti)social-media population [also likely about 20 s], voters will not recognize that they have voted away their medical security and safety by voting for such craven clowns and quislings.
