Monday, Monday, can’t trust that day, at least not if you’re Donald Trump and each Monday morning yields a brand new poll or multiple polls. Some polls are weekly, some monthly, but there is no poll right now that shows Trump gaining ground that he’s lost in his second term. In fact, Trump is now beating his own unpopularity records from his first term. As expected, Trump is particularly losing ground with Hispanics and Black voters. Gee, I wonder why? Could it be that the Hispanics are afraid that they’re going to get snatched off the streets and carted off? And that the Blacks recognize racism in all its forms?
In our polling with YouGov, since the start of his second term Donald Trump's net approval has fallen 17pts among white Americans (+17 to -1), 28pts among Hispanic Americans (-9 to -37) and 38pts among black Americans (-36 to -74) pic.twitter.com/JePrnyAvtn

I frankly expect the approval rating amongst Hispanics to tumble even further. I don’t see how it can’t do so, considering the awful images which we see United States citizens subjected to, simply because they might look or sound Hispanic or have an Hispanic last name. Those chickens are going to come home to roost.
Meanwhile, for the moment, the ICE atrocities go on. Maybe Trump can only learn at the ballot box. Or, maybe he believes that he’s got the 2026 midterms sewed up and he doesn’t need to worry. Or, and I think this is the most probable of all: Trump simply wants to sleepwalk through the rest of his term and do photo ops between golf games. He really doesn’t care what happens to anybody. The only touch right now that is needed is Trump borrowing Melania’s pea coat so that at least we can give him credit for honesty.
Look at it this way: Trump is not a company man. He doesn’t care about the presidency as an institution, unlike the others before him who have held that office. He doesn’t care about the Republican party as an institution. And he only cares about the MAGA cult as a money making operation.
Since he’s making plenty of money with crypto and what all, MAGA is still Trump’s best bet. But a cult is only so good as its charismatic leader and Trump won’t be around forever. That will leave both MAGA and the GOP to fend for itself.
Good luck with finding a leader for MAGA. Frankly, I think Marjorie Taylor Green may end up in the default position for that. J.D. Vance may assume that the MAGA mantle will land on his shoulders but he’s dreaming. He’s not going to become Trump II, except in his dreams.

I think he is going to try and stay in office as long as possible
Just to stay out of prison. Although in 3 years, he may not even remember he was ever president
