We’re going to find out very quickly how completely insane this administration is. We’re just 63 days into this four-year sentence to a lunatic asylum that we’re all collectively serving (17 days of which Donald has spent golfing, which is 26.68% if you’re keeping track) and we’ve already got more than one constitutional crisis plus a scandal that makes Watergate look tame. But rather than deal with this professionally, which Trump is incapable of, it looks like now the Atlantic editor is being demonized. And how far along will that get? Depends. Waltz is flailing stupidly here and attempting to make Jeffrey Goldberg the malfeasor. It’s not going so well.

Good. He “schemed” his way in. Uh huh. I can well understand why Ron Filipkowski who did criminal defense is rolling his eyes at this one. But hey, Fox News has picked right up on it.

Hey, we are just days away from George Orwell’s two-minute hate, and it will be directed at Goldberg, not Goldstein. Cue the MAGA hordes, they’re ready. And I hope Mr. Goldberg has security. He’s now been marked Public Enemy Number One for the “crime” of judiciously withholding Top Secret information which he was made privy to by Waltz and Ratcliffe and Hegseth and the rest. Speaking of Ratcliffe, looks like he lied under oath today.

Can you imagine what it must be like in the American intelligence community these days, the CIA, NSC, FBI, etc.? There are many career public servants in these agencies and they are seasoned, competent professionals. And they see these dummies walk in and “take charge?” And I’m sure a lot of you can relate to this. I know that in my life I’ve seen business ownerships change and sometimes the new guy or gal is a stone cold moron, and knows nothing of the business that they have just bought. But, hey, you go along to get along, at least while sending out resumes and covertly scheduling interviews.

The big difference is, have you ever worked in a situation where an incompetent boss can get a person or people killed? I have not. And I can only imagine what hell that must be. And the only worse hell than that that I can imagine, is what if you’re one of the people in the field that the moron could end up targeting, not even cognizant of the fact that that is a possibility. Or worst of all, imagine a “boss” not even being remorseful about what Pete Buttigieg characterized as an “epic fuck up” and so if you’re in the field, the hair on the back of your neck starts standing up and stays that way. Can you imagine living like that?

That is what we’re dealing with here. All these dummies care about is saving their own skins. And so I believe that the following will happen:

  1. Some kind of asinine conspiracy theory will be cobbled together, making Goldberg the malfeasor, rather than the innocent bystander bearing witness to the rampant stupidity and unprofessionalism;
  2. If the conspiracy theory is good enough, Pam Bondi may indeed try to put together a case against Goldberg.

But it’s going to have to be a lot more powerful than what’s being said right now. Yesterday when this broke, Fox News said that it was just an accident. No biggy, we’ve all done it. Today it’s been made manifestly clear that it is a biggy. So now the play is to blame the bystander.

And Elon Musk has been solicited. This is primo. Elon’s going to find us all the answers here.

Why not get Barron Trump on the case? I mean, he knows where the computer on/off switch is and if you really get down to it, Barron is no less qualified than any of Dad’s other appointees, so what the hey? Barron, Big Balls, Elon, and they’re all going to get loaded and figure out a way to hang it all on the journalist.

And where is Pete Hegseth in all this? Crickets — other than slandering Jeffrey Goldberg, of course. Here’s a great clip on Hegseth, or SECDRUNK as Rick Wilson calls him.

Again I marvel that so many people voted for this shitshow to return to Washington. I guess America has to learn its lesson the hard way. H.L. Mencken was right: “democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.” Mencken is the same journalist who said, “As democracy is perfected the office of the president represents more and more closely the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

He also said, “Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under,” and in 2025, that’s exactly how I feel. I have never been ashamed to be an American. But on November 5, 2024, that feeling changed. My only consolation is that Trump scraped back in by 1.5% and not the “mandate” that he so insanely claims. So while I am ashamed, I still hold out hope.

And I’ll tell you what may be the silver lining: Trump is already screwing up and it will only get worse. People are beginning to see that. Hence the vitriol at townhalls and the like. This may be a wake up call to America to get more involved in politics. When the system works, people are more likely to tune out and let other people handle it. When the system is clearly broken, that’s when people get involved and demand change. At least, that’s my fervent hope.

It’s a media industry wide phenomenon. I believe this will turn around in time. Thank you for coming here to read. Ursula

  1. This may be a wake up call to America to get more involved in politics.

    YES YES YES.

Might even wake up the goobers. Like when their SSA checks do not arrive. Can’t blame Biden for that, can they? Of course, they’ll try…

  2. Let’s point out the obvious (because Fox News won’t): If a journalist can “sneak in” to a group text chain, anyone can. It’s.Not.Secure!
I remember 2008, when our financial system was on the verge of collapse and the GOP/G.W. Bush’s approval rating was in the 20% range, Democrats were able to sweep the elections. The challenges we face now are far worse, because free and fair elections, and the Constitution itself, are endangered. All the more reason to “fight like hell” to preserve our freedom.

  3. All Mr Goldberg has to do is print out the texts and publish the…

And now they’ve done this we can see who the real liars are.

And more importantly, who the perjurers are.

    Now they can be prosecuted.
