I think rape is a word that everyone knows. There are many kinds of rape, but they all tear at not only the physical body, but the spirit and soul. By the way, guys? This isn’t limited to females. It can happen to you.
So we are now into the “your body, my choice” era of tRump 2.0. It’s going to get worse, not better. Most women don’t report rape because they get told it’s their fault, for all sorts of little reasons like “you shouldn’t be wearing those clothes”, or “you shouldn’t walk alone in the dark”. I could go on, there’s no need, but that’s just a taste of the stupidity. The person who has been raped is treated like a criminal, not the one who did it. Police officers don’t believe them. Hospitals are not comforting if you go in to have a rape test done. They’re impersonal and bored. They have no sympathy for someone who isn’t visibly hurt on the outside. They don’t even try to understand someone who has had their soul torn and their body violated. Too often it gets turned around on the attacked, and they are blamed!
Desperation and fear, and terror – will it be worse if you fight back?! You retreat inside yourself for self-preservation and …. some people don’t come back out.
Trump and his cronies are raping our country. The rule of law is practically gone. Democracy is a pale shadow of itself, often hidden in the shadows of the presidency and Congress. It’s all about wealth and power, ALL about it. The nation doesn’t matter anymore. He/they are going to do what they are going to do and everyone else can go to hell. Project 2025 is about power. Also think about some of the people Trump has nominated for jobs with the most power and influence. Yes, Gaetz was forced to withdraw, but Trump tried to put him in as AG, which is horrific in and of itself. Then there’s Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, a rapist heading a Dept. rife with sexual assault/abuse problems. Does anyone think these are the only such people Trump intends to empower? Or that they would appoint people who will spread their “women and their bodies are ours to use as they please” attitudes?
It’s about sending our country back to the Dark Ages of decades ago. It’s oppressing anyone who is not white, male and rich. What do they care about inflation when it puts more people into poverty? Why do they care that tariffs are going to INCREASE prices, not lower them, as we were “promised”? Of course, we know his promises are nothing but lies, hot air and platitudes with no follow-through ever intended. But all of you who voted for him, well, you also are getting, as we are getting, what he intended all along, which is nothing.

True. I wonder why women didn’t rise up as they are over 50% of our population? Of course when you hold sham hearings for a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court placing a rapist,(Kavanaugh), and a corrupt predator, (Thomas), there to decide Roe versus Wade, well what can you expect? Oh that’s right…a pedophile rapist 78 million citizens see no problem with. Hey all you rapists…just to let you know…if ANY of you EVER attack one of my daughters…well…now that the Law says it’s peachy keen, I will dedicate my life to finding you and seeing that you have a one way ticket to hell. Scott, I understand your confusion but systemic brainwashing, such as we’ve all been subjected to for years now, is an equal opportunity hazard. and as Cherl said, I’m pretty sure a lot of women are fighting back. I would be curious about the last election in terms of M/F votes all the way downballot myself. And I appreciate Ursula’s giving the author of this piece, who is not a regular contributor, this platform to let her voice be heard. (apropos of nothing, Mr. Washington’s first name is spelled “Denzel”, not Danzel, thanks.). And you are correct; this IS an evil culture. They want to go back to when men were men and women were cattle (“chattel” also works).
It’s absolutely disgusting how both times the Orange Shit Stain has won, it was because the voters rejected a qualified and dedicated woman. My home country had a female Prime Minister, who was attacked by the conservatives and the Murdoch press in very misogynistic ways.
