I never thought I would see this in my lifetime. Talk of Jews, gas chambers and concentration camps is conversation that I had with the holocaust survivors that I knew and they’ve all been gone for a number of years now. But the Evil that promulgated all that horror back in Nazi Germany is not gone. That kind of Evil never dies, it only goes dormant for a while and lulls us into thinking that it belongs to a distant past and it will never return and if it does, it can’t happen here.

It has happened here, “here” being all over the world and here in this country. Steve Schmidt characterized Saturday’s outbreak of war in Israel as “Israel’s Pearl Harbor” but consensus is that it’s now Israel’s 9/11. Fine. Either way it was a brutal and vicious assault which has left many people dead, and yes, the stories of decapitating people, babies included, have been verified. Here is the crowd that wants to “gas the Jews.”

According to The Daily Mail, local police allowed Monday night’s pro-Palestinian protestors outside of the Sydney Opera House to chant violence against the Jews and burn the Star of David; however, local police arrested a pro-Israeli protestor for attempting to raise an Israeli flag.

Daily Mail Australia reporters noted that at one point, a large crowd of pro-Palestinian protestors attempted to set an Israeli flag on fire with firecrackers prior to stomping on the flag and shredding it in public. The Daily Mail reported chants of “Allahu Akbar” (translated as “God is great” in Arabic) and “death to the Jews” from Muslim protestors.

Monday’s protest was organized by the Palestine Action Group Sydney. The rally began at the town hall in the Central Business District before protestors marched to the Opera House, which was lit up in blue and white to show support for Israel after the devastating attacks by Hamas over the weekend killed hundreds of civilians.

While the leaders of Monday’s rally reportedly urged protestors to show respect to the police, multiple protestors were seen swarming the police barrier outside of the Sydney Opera House. More than 100 law enforcement officers were present at the rally. However, the police did not respond with force, even as Muslim protestors threw flares and other objects at the police.

Co-CEO of the Executive Australian Council of Jewry Alex Ryvchin stated, “I think it’s frankly disgusting to have people coming out in support of the horrific atrocities that we’ve seen in Israel – over 700 people killed, there are accounts of gang rape, of children snatched from the hands of their parents.”

Ryvchin added, “And people in our own country think that is a cause to rally and celebrate and cheer. Then we saw the scenes of violence, of burning of flags, of chanting explicitly about Jews, not just about Israel. It’s really terrifying to hear that we have people who hold these sentiments here in our homeland.”

And here’s what’s happening in our homeland, yours and mine.

And yes, it can get worse.

And worse.

The celebration of the Hamas atrocities was not confined to street protests. Via the Free Press:

On Saturday, as the raping and murdering and kidnapping were happening in Israel, Najma Sharif, a writer for Soho House magazine and Teen Vogueposted on X: “What did y’all think decolonization meant? vibes? papers? essays? losers.”

So far, Sharif’s post has been liked 100,000 times and reposted nearly 23,000 times—by, among others, The Washington Post’s global opinions editor, Karen Attiah.

The point was: Don’t be squeamish. Never mind the Jewish girl being pulled by her hair with blood streaming between her legs. Never mind the women being raped beside the corpses of their friends at a music festival. Never mind the children and babies snatched from their parents.

If you can’t handle it, if you condemn it without a preamble or equivocation, you’re an apologist for the Zionist colonizers.

If you’re disgusted right now and there’s something wrong with you if you’re not, then here’s a ray of hope. President Biden hit it out of the park last night. Axios:

President Biden left no room for ambiguity as he delivered one of the most forceful, emotional speeches of his presidency Tuesday afternoon: Hamas’ attack on Israel was “an act of sheer evil,” he declared, equating it to the “worst rampages of ISIS.”

Why it matters: Biden’s address — carried live by all major news networks —was perhaps the most powerful statement of support for Israel by a sitting U.S. president since Harry Truman recognized the Jewish state in 1948.

  • “In this moment, we must be crystal clear. … The United States has Israel’s back. We will make sure the Jewish and democratic state of Israel can defend itself today, tomorrow — as we always have,” Biden said.
  • “President Biden’s speech was the most passionately pro-Israel in history,” tweeted former Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren. “Our people will always remember and cherish this speech and the man who delivered it.”

Evil still exists. It always will. But so does Good and right now Good is in the White House. And the Evil who would return to the White House is busy fundraising off of the slaughter of innocents and human suffering, with his stupid, screaming all-caps tweets.

Here’s the latest great idea from the Mini Mango Mind.

Yeah, take back that $6 billion that’s sitting untouched in a Qatari bank account. That’s the answer. That will solve everything. Yep. Uh huh.

  1. I am both angry and heartbroken by this news. I have always confronted those who conflate the actions of the Israeli government with “The Jews.” It is an easy call to racism and barbarism. And so it us with the conflation of the actions of Hamas with “The Palestinians.” I can, and do, support Palestinians and their fight against the very wrong behavior of the Israeli government when it occurs. Those who say they support Palestine by using symbols of Hamas are blindly harming those they claim to support! Hamas leaders planned the attack without a moment’s consideration for the death and destruction that would follow in Gaza…those not outright killed in the counter attacks are suffering horrific injuries and loss of food, water, and other necessities. Their lives are not being made better now or in the long run. Support Palestinians, not the cruelty of Hamas!

    • Perfectly put Cleora. While there can be no forgiving of Hamas for their appalling, atrocious actions against Israel, more than a few people are noting that Israel is reaping what it has sown with it’s treatment of Palestinians over the last eighty years. Continuing to insist on a Jewish Supremacist, Zionist state is, too very many, just as egregious as South Africa’s doomed apartheid experiment.
