I don’t know how many more pyrotechnic displays of utter incompetence and mis-reading the electorate the DeSantis campaign can take before it tanks utterly but the anti-LGBTQ video that DeSantis War Room released two days ago would mark the stopping point to anybody even remotely in touch. That said, let’s see where the DeSantis campaign goes next.

Buttigieg is so poised, centered, and articulate. What a contrast he provides to the awkward DeSantis buffoon, who can’t think on his feet to save his soul. Maybe the two of them could square off in 2028. Wouldn’t that be a howler? Or DeSantis v. Gavin Newsom? Same premise. But frankly I don’t think DeSantis will last that long.

It will not surprise you at all that it’s being speculated that Christina Pushaw is indeed working for the enemy, namely Trump. Either that, or she truly lives in some delusional bubble that America is looking to elect the meanest bastard it can find. It was her decision to repurpose this video, which was originally done by an anonymous Twitter user ProudElephantUS. The video makes DeSantis look infantile and cruel — but maybe Pushaw thinks that will sell. Who knows?
And mark my words: what happens to Pushaw in the next week or so will determine the trajectory of DeSantis’ campaign. If Casey DeSantis is the savvy media maven that we are told she is, she’s going to realize that this idiocy is not only missing the mark, it’s making Ron look like an idiot. And he doesn’t need any help in that department.

I think this pretty much says it all. I give Pushaw until the end of the week, maybe just until the 5th of July. We’ll probably get through the holiday without an explosion.
The bottom line of that video is that it makes Trump look like the more reasonable, more humane and more decent of the two. That, along with the fact that the male images are macho tropes and ridiculous, makes the ad a complete disaster. But hey, I’m with these other folks, I hope Pushaw stays around and, if possible, is promoted and given even more power. That would be the best possible result and bring us many more comedic moments.

It IS actually possible to polish a turd. Mythbusters showed us how in one of their episodes. It’s still a turd with turd color but at least it is shiny looking. DeSantis’ problem, and that of his limited circle of campaign folks is that even if they recognize ole Ron is a TURD, they don’t even try to polish it. Pete is a good guy. He keeps his cool. I hope he runs for prez again. I sure as hell hope he wins. We need people like Pete, Obama, etc., smart people in the w.h. We’ve had way too many of the not smart ones and our country shows the damage such people cause it.
Pete’s a terrific guy. I think our country is too backwards to accept a gay man in charge. I would love to be wrong about that.
I do think the black, christians would have a difficult time voting for Buttigieg, which is a shame as he would do more for them than most other candidates.
spike… I voted for Obama twice, but he also had clay feet. He didn’t change the cannabis laws with any real executive action although the criminal Nixon put them in place to lock up those who were protesting civil rights and the Vietnam War. Scheduling that still locks up mostly black youth for possession. He and Eric holder didn’t prosecute the rich who tanked the economy in 2009 although they stole hundreds of millions and foreclosed on millions of us who lost jobs. He instituted the drone program that has killed thousands of innocent civilians in the middle east. There are other examples and I won’t disagree about his intelligence, but he lied about a lot of things, including telling us he would be transparent. He was not. The office seems to demand corruption. I like Pete but I wonder what the office would do to him.
