We have open warfare going on between the Orange Baby Balloon supporters, that has exposed a pretty severe break between his tech MAGA billionaire backers and his middle class (i.e. anything but billionaire’s class?) traditional MAGA backers. It all started with the H-1B visas and is going downhill fast. Seems that “regular” MAGA is not at all in favor of the visas, being as they’ll take positions away from our Americans already here in the US. We already know that E-yawn Musk and Vivek Rama-stompy are HIGHLY in favor of them. I’ve already covered that here, no need to repeat. But the hardcore immigration hawks who have been with tRump since day 1 are Not. Happy. As a matter of fact, they’re pretty pissed and I’ll bet the billionaires don’t notice them. They should.
And actually, I agree that American jobs should belong to Americans. Let me be clear – this does NOT mean that I am or ever WILL BE a MAGA sycophant. That makes me nauseous just to think about it. Erp. Ew. Too bad no one is hiring for all these jobs that are open. Trying over the holidays is a waste of time and energy. The top jobs, though? They belong to AMERICANS, not imports. Made in the USA.
The every day MAGA people don’t like it that it seems as if the mega-rich are calling the shots. They don’t live in an ordinary, every day world like the majority of MAGA does. They’re in their own world and if you don’t have money, money, money you are certainly NOT included. So, the “little people”, regular AMERICANS, cast the opening salvo in what looks to be a very long battle regarding the future of MAGAts. Interesting, yes? I certainly never expected a split in MAGA. On the other hand, I didn’t do my research as I didn’t know there was a second sect of MAGA, which would essentially be the men with the money. Has anyone else noticed there are very few women involved in this? That says something, (or doesn’t say), interesting.
But then again, the Cheez-Whiz Tater Tot is known for being abusive towards women. Grab them in the p*$$y remember”? I wonder, yet don’t want to know, how many women he has fondled (and other things) that didn’t dare to say anything. Wait. How did I get here from talking about MAGA, anyhow?
Back to our regularly scheduled broadcast. For this first battle, Musk used the words “contemptible fools” who should be “rooted out”. Well, Steve Bannon comes back with a punch to the face and tells E-Yawn he will “rip Musk’s face off” on New Year’s Eve, warning Muskrat to “not go to the pulpit in your first week here and start lecturing people”. My bet would be on Bannon. There’s absolutely no contest there. We could put them in a cage match together! There will be insults and blood! MAGA could make some serious money on that one. Elon, of course, would never agree to it. Too bad. And again, something interesting. DonOld stepped up for the Silicon Valley group, kindof. I’ll bet that MAGA did NOT like that.
But all was not lost! Bannon, echoing concerns that the billionaire boys club did not understand the vast majority of MAGA, told Musk and other “recent converts” to “sit back and study’ MAGA’s stance on keeping US jobs for Americans. Once again, I detest Steve Bannon, for far too many reasons to list, but this time I think he’s NOT being psychotic. He’s speaking truth. BANNON is speaking truth. Mark this date on your calendars, ladies and gentlemen, because who knows if it will ever happen again?
And now, a very special message from our awesome boss:
Friends, I am forced to self-promote and ask you for money. We had a bad year compared with 2023 and the end of the year has been catastrophic. Traffic died on November 5. We are a small blog and completely self-supporting by ad revenue, donations, and subscriptions. If you can afford a monthly subscription that would help us out. If you can make a small donation, likewise. Our only goal is to stay in business and give you the best content we can generate. You are the wind beneath our wings. Thank you. Regarding Steve Bannon, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. At least for now.
At least for now, indeed. Thank you!
I have been amazed to hear comments lately from people on the left whom I normally respect, to the effect that HB-1 visas are a Good Thing, or that Musk is right in this case. In politics many things have both good and bad aspects, and which is more important depends on the particular circumstances. I have absolutely no liking for Steve Bannon and his crowd, but this is no time for the expansion of the HB-1 program, and we know this is just another move for cheap labor. I still am sympathetic to struggling individuals and families who come here as refugees from places where it is difficult for them to survive or where there lives are in danger, and are willing to take jobs few Americans want — even though I think much more effort should be put into improving conditions in those countries so they could happily stay there. But I do not want relatively well off, relatively well educated people coming here to compete with Americans by taking lower wages and being chained to particular jobs, which is nothing but an assault on the hard-won American working class and a boondoggle for corporate billionaires. Most of these foreign techies do not identify with the working class but are budding Muskrats hoping for eventual big bucks.
Well said. Thank you!
The H-1B system absolutely screwed over skilled Americans, and people who were legal residents. It artificially held down wages
Additionally, the movement of a HB-1 immigrant removes from their source country someone who, almost by definition, has valued skills and talents that could well be useful to their, likely poorer, home country. Not to mention the fact that the home country has used its resources to educate and develop them, potentially denying others those places in school and college
