It’s funny. How many times have we seen college educated, often at top flight universities, eloquent, now well-to-do captains of industry turn around and step on their cranks. With golf cleats. And they do it for one reason, and one reason only, the egotistical quest for power.

Now war hero and national treasure John McCain was never a captain of industry. And it showed every day, because he had things that money can’t buy, namely dignity, honor, duty and a sense of service. He famously knocked down an aged hater in his town hall audience who snidely referred to Barack Obama as An A_rab, in response to which McCain took the microphone and politely told her to sit down and shut up.

The rest of these ass clowns just can’t seem to help themselves. They can’t help talking to the rest of us like we’re the desperate hangers on that they’re ridiculing them in front of his buddies. For instance, Mitt Romney famously gaffed at the Iowa state Fair that corporations are people too, my friends. Not that the Supreme Court pretty much made that true, but it was a fine point lost on an audience who thought of him as a rich, old, out of touch white dude. Which is just as bad.

But at least Romney was an experienced politician, he knew the ropes. These days there’s a whole other category of neophyte politicians, the Couture Politicians. They have become rich and powerful running private or even major public companies, or get extreme fame through the media for other careers, and think that this entitles them to transition from running a company to running a country.

But to quote the incredible horror author Stephen King, Here there be Tygers. These ass gaskets didn’t get to the top of cutthroat businesses by being choir boys. But as long as they were smart enough to keep the closet door firmly closed on their skeletons, the media tends to stick to their professions performances. But when you suddenly decide to run for the US Senate, or God forbid the presidency, when that happens, the media takes out their picks and shovels, and goes to work;

• Kari Lake was a popular prime time news anchor in Phoenix who drank the MAGA Kool Ade, and decided to run for the senate. Then she opened her mouth, and people started bringing butterfly nets to her rallies
• Dr Mehmet Oz, a phony flake media darling with a medical degree decided to pull a carpetbagger, and run for the Senate in Pennsylvania, even though he lived in New Jersey. The media went to work, and quickly discovered that homey, small town doctor Mehmet Oz had something like eleven fully staffed homes in five countries. And Oz himself sealed his own fate when he made a campaign social media ad where he accidentally admitted that he couldn’t say the words veggie tray
• Former UG football Neanderthal Herschel Walker also pulled a carpetbagger and ran for US Senate in Georgia even though he physically lived in Texas. Then came the partner abuse allegations, with the victims appearing on camere, while Walker blathered away about rather being a vampire than a werewolf

Of course, the Patron Saint of Couture Political Imbeciles is one Donald John Trump. This is a mental midget who was so desperate for attention that he even impersonated his own PR flack in order to get tabloid media attention in New York. And was promptly was takien for a joke. In poor taste.

Then Traitor Tot got his oh so ever delicate snowflake fee-fees melted by then President Obama at the White House Correspondents Dinner, and launched an ego driven response by running for President. I still believe that Trump never wanted or intended to win the White House. It was a double pronged attack, spread and burnish his brand with endless hours of free air time, and stick one in Obama’s eye.

What happened next is now the stuff of political, civil, and penal lore. Two US House impeachments, an $89 million civil judgement for sexual assault and defamation. Civil suits that forced the dissolution of both the bogus Trump Charity as well as Trump U, with stiff fines. A civil conviction of the Trump Organization as a fraud enterprise, a civil judgement of some $454 million against Trump and his schlock company for fraud, and 34 convictions in Manhattan for fraud. And all because he decided to run for President, and the media started looking.

And now here comes Traitor Tot 2.0, Beggar Vance. He has a carefully scripted personal narrative that shows him as basically poor white trash, born in hardscrabble Appalachia poverty under abusive circumstances, raised himself by the bootstraps, and became a billionaire venture capitalist. And that was fine with the media as far as it went.

But then he had not only run for US Senate, but then gilded the lily and take Emperor Numbus Nuttus’s invitation to pester the entire nation instead of just the constituents in Ohio. And now the media is digging;

• Long time residents of his hometown say that he didn’t even grow up in the location he claims
• Other residents are saying that his father was involved in the Klan
• It turns out that Vance is basically a business fraud, who couldn’t have gotten anything beyond an entry level position at a venture capitalist firm if GOP mega donor hadn’t taken Vance under his wing, hired him, pushed him on another firm, then personally walked Vance into his VP interview with Trump
• In his career as a venture capitalist, Vance personally ran one company, which went bankrupt the year he was sworn into the Senate

The silly bastards just never learn. You can set yourself up in the business world like the legendary Lord Jim, running a banana republic island just as long as you keep your goddamned head down! But when you stick your head into the white hot spotlight of national politics, the media is going to do everything in their power to make sure you melt. Because it’s in the public interest. Stand up and take a bow, FOOL!
