As Durrati explained here earlier today, Donald Trump is not having a good afternoon. He’s probably been on the phone with his new criminal defense lawyer, John Lauro. Lauro, it turns out, used to practice law with Norm Eisen. Surprise surprise what a small world we live in.

The seven-minute clip you’re about to hear is of Eisen talking with Jim Acosta. There’s an interesting graphic to look at, at 0:53. It shows the calendar for three months in 2024, January, March, and May. In January, Trump has the Iowa caucuses, the E. Jean Carroll civil trial (again) and the New Hampshire primary. Busy month, that.

Then we go to March, which contains Super Tuesday and the hush money trial. I am going to bet the farm right here and now that never in the history of politics has any other presidential candidate had a calendar anything like this. This is sheer farce.

Then we go to May, which we are told contains the beginning of the classified documents trial and the GOP primary deadline on the 31st. Then the next big thing is the GOP convention in July — unless there’s another trial and who knows what Fani Willis may be putting together? We were told that we would know the end of July and/or the beginning of August and we’re in the last seven days of July right now. Won’t be long now, whatever it is.

So with that lead in, listen to what Norm Eisen has to say and smile, as he does.

[Note: ignore the top line on the video. This isn’t about Tim Scott. This is Norm Eisen sounding Trump’s death knell.]

“Since John Adams defended the Redcoats,” we are told, defense lawyers give defendants a good representation, whether they deserve it or not. I just hope that Lauro got his money up front.

This is one of those clips to bookmark and come back to because it’s a good, clean outline of what the issues are and how this is all going to play out.

And let’s face it, Trump’s been going nuts on Truth Social and he does that when things start to get dicey. This is a pattern that we’ve seen.

As to Truth Social: Tomorrow is July 24. This is the deadline for the financial paperwork to be re-presented to the Securities Exchange Commission in proper order, or Truth Social could be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange. Let’s keep an eye out for that. My instinct is that they will get delisted, but then watching Trump world lo these many years has made a cynic out of me.

Many many thanks to those of you who have contributed to our fundraiser. Just a gentle reminder, if you’re able, and you haven’t contributed, we still have not reached our goal. The Twit-tanic is sinking, and while the band plays, we’re prepping our lifeboat. Otherwise, it’s glub-glub. Thank you.

  1. Why would Lies Social be any different to other Trump business ventures?

Of course it won’t be, taking millions in investors money down with it- while somehow not affecting Trump’s wealth.

  2. My biggest disappointment steming from Trump losing the election is..,. I truly believed that once he was no longer president I would not have to listen to all the scandal and lies and his mouth. I would be able to make it through one day and not hear anything about him.
    when will it ever end?

    • Sadly, Trump gets far more airtime than the sitting president. And that will continue even when the Democratic ticket wins in 2024. Trump’s criminal and civil trials will be extensively covered for years. Even after he dies, Trump’s “legacy” will be debated for decades. But, hey, it’s good for the TV ratings!

    • It won’t end until Trump stops grifting and that may be when he stops breathing. He’s in it for the grift, always has been. Now he’s in such hot water legally and it’s so expensive, he may have to stay in politics.

He reminds me of a few movie stars that have gotten out over their skis financially and literally are locked into doing “x” number of movies so that they can simply survive and not lose everything.
