On Friday, he was losing his mind over the #No Kings rallies that were yesterday. He was trying to twist the protests around to something that did not work. There’s a bunch of us who know better. And folks had some glorious comebacks. What are you afraid of, Mike Johnson? From Raw Story:
Johnson ranted on Fox News, saying he is “angry” and “had it with these people,” pointing to the upcoming protests on Oct. 18 across the United States. He also tried to claim the shutdown timing is tied to the public demonstration, The New Republic reports. People called him out online, including former Tea Party Rep. Joe Walsh. “My former political party is scared to death of these #NoKings rallies. That’s great. So let’s have a gazillion Americans out rallying all around the country on October 18th! Let’s scare the shit out of Trump & his party,” Walsh wrote on X.
It may not have been gazillions, but it was definitely millions. Imagine Mikey cowering in his house because, if nothing else, there were quite a number of protestors in DC! Just do a search for #No Kings photos and you can find it easily. There are a bunch of pictures out there showing how many people came to the protests. We certainly broke the record of the first #No Kings!!!
Others joined with a similar response, including the No Kings coalition, which organizes the nationwide event. “The organizers behind the No Kings Day of Action on October 18 — the event Johnson called a ‘hate America rally’ — have this to say in response. ‘After a few moments of laughter, the No Kings coalition issued the following statement,'” Huffington Post reporter Jennifer Bendery wrote on X. “#SpeakerJohnson just called every American who plans to attend a #NoKings event a hater of the US. This spineless fake christian seems to like public humiliation, so he can continue by bowing down and kissing our protesting arses! We are patriots,” Sally Dillon wrote on X.
Oh, yes, that one burned! Do you think Mikey has seen it? We hope so. If not, well, a bunch of *us* have seen it. He isn’t going to like the positive press for the other side. As a matter of fact, we can say that *someone* will make sure he does know. At least Mikey doesn’t have a ketchup fetish like someone we all know and hate.
“Peaceful protests don’t require military responses #NoKings and the Soros comment is just veiled anti-semitism. Very sad what has happened to the Republican Party,” producer Gary Michael Walters wrote on X. //// ” Mike Johnson says the ‘No Kings’ protest is a Hate America rally. Wrong. It’s a We Love America rally—because real Americans don’t bow to kings. Read a history book, Mike. Or admit you’re just an errand boy too scared to tell the truth,” California Democratic Socialist and Congressional candidate Chris Ahuja wrote on X.
Mmmhmm. This is not a good look for Mike Johnson. Of course, it’s not been a good look since late June/early July, when the House didn’t even look at the Senate changes, and just sent the “BBB” to Trump to sign, because the Big Ugly Bill was a mess. Some of the cuts for healthcare were downright disturbing. We’d like to know if other cuts could have been made because the ones in the BUB didn’t take into account the population that Republicans seem to have forgotten – that their positions are due to RED states, not just blue states. Apparently, it doesn’t matter that their constituents would get slammed by the cuts. The conservatives said cut, and that’s what they used. Mikey and the Republicans didn’t care. They just had to make those tax cuts permanent, and that’s what they did. Idiots.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
