Holy Civil War, Batman! Nikki Haley not only doesn’t object to states seceding from the Union, she says the Constitution backs them up on it. I guess Honest Abe was confused. He seemed to believe that it was his duty, having sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution, to keep the Union from dissolving.
Too bad Lincoln didn’t have Nikki Haley around. She could have set him straight.
We knew that Haley’s bid for the GOP nomination for POTUS was going to be comical, but I doubt any of us foresaw this. Nikki, learn Ursula’s Law: there is not only a tweet for everything, there is tape for everything, and you will get caught being stupid. And this is Day One, give all the researchers and archivists a little time. Who knows what wonders they will unearth?

This next one is good, too. Looks like Haley is on the Social Security Is Bankrupt bandwagon along with Rick Scott. Hey, maybe Scott and Haley have a dream, she gets into the Oval Office, he wrestles the gavel away from Mitch McConnell. So far, it doesn’t look like things are going all that well.
And cut Social Security. pic.twitter.com/StAtCwIecu

According to the Center For Budget and Policy Priorities:
For over three decades, however, Social Security collected more in payroll taxes and other income than it paid in benefits and other expenses, and the Treasury invested the surplus in interest-bearing Treasury securities, ultimately reaching a total of $2.9 trillion in trust fund reserves. In 2021, Social Security began redeeming those reserves to help pay benefits.
Payroll taxes from current workers will continue to pay for the bulk of benefits. The trust fund reserves will make up the difference between income and costs until the reserves are depleted. At that point, Social Security’s income will still be able to pay 80 percent of promised benefits — even in the unlikely event that policymakers fail to act.
We are far and away from a Social Security crisis, but hey, lack of crisis is no fun. The GOP can only function when fomenting a full blown crisis.
I wonder if we should start taking bets on how long this campaign of Haley’s is going to last?
She is a liar. A feckless liar. A money grubbing, attention seeking liar. She’s a white supremacist liar. She’s a child killing liar. I could say more but I was trying to be nice.
She should be asked where (article and section) that bit about secession is.
Being a native son of the south, I only have one question hairdo…hasn’t this shit been tried once before with your state leading the way? How’d that go?
