Interesting that the Lincoln Project is following this line of reasoning. Yes, misogyny is rampant in this culture and certainly we all saw the result of the Trump/Clinton face off in 2016. That was the stuff of nightmares. We don’t need to rehash that debacle once again. There is a substantial difference in the two female candidates, Kamala and Hillary, though, that I want to point out. Hillary was simply not the candidate for the moment, any more than Mitt Romney was the candidate for his moment.

Hillary was way too much the stateswoman to be effective against Donald Trump, the pig of pigs. Kamala Harris is different. She’s seen Trump’s type before, as a prosecutor. Harris is the perfect foil for Trump. That said, I don’t question the Lincoln Project’s choice to hit the misogyny aspect again, as they did a few days back with their Sam Elliot piece. Although my assessment is that Harris is exactly the right candidate for this moment and that’s why the 2008 energy is back.

Now this next film is one you simply must see.

“I’m being indicted for you, the Black population.” How can this bald faced, unabashed racist be supposedly polling as high as he is? Is this who we are? Is this *man* representative of America in the year 2024? God I hope not. This guy is an utter disgrace by any rational yardstick.

I can certainly live with the kind of America that Kamala Harris represents better than the drivel and backwards notions that Trump stands for. 33 more days. Do what you can to Get Out The Vote.

Sorry, gonna have to disagree with you in this assessment.

Kamala Harris hasn’t faced the kind of 20+ year campaign of outright hate and lies that Hillary faced that WAAAAAY too many Democrats fell for. Also, let’s not forget the outright misogyny that Hillary faced in her 2008 campaign (remember the Obama staffer who groped a standup of Hillary? remember the news anchor who suggested Hillary was “pimiping out” her adult daughter? or the media guy who suggested that “someone” take Hillary into a closet until *HE* came out? remember the Obama bros who joked about Hillary needing to iron his shirt? remember how she was the only one criticized for her Iraq War vote even though almost all of her other male opponents had voted the same way?).

Hillary HAD to be a “stateswoman” lest she come off as a “bitch”–even when dealing with Trump–because there were too many people including her “fellow” Democrats who were ready to believe the absolute worst about her at all times. (Hell, in 2008, she practically NEVER stopped campaigning during the primaries, even as Obama–some 15 years her junior–took near-weekly breaks but he was seen as “youthful” and “vibrant” while she was “old.” And, oh, let’s remember how she was asked if she would support the Democratic nominee, even if it weren’t her, but no one pressed Obama on that issue–Michelle flatly refused to answer the question when she was asked. And then, after the Convention, Hillary was criticized for not getting on the campaign trail to help Obama soon enough.)

We’ve seen how Trump and the GOP have been trying (and, for the most part, failing) to find some sort of negative thing to use against Harris but Harris has largely lucked out because her national profile has been relative minimal until the past few months.

    • I got a warning from Meteorblades on Dkos once because I would not back down on my statement that the ‘Bros’ loved using her emails as much as Trump. It is an in your face fact and by the way they will not blame Trump’s election on racism, which also a fact. They just gave excuses for the Monsters that vote Republican.

    • Kamala Harris has not been around the sun 59 times in America without facing anti-Black, anti-female and anti-black-female bias. T’s true she has not been through a vast right wing conspiracy over decases, but that’s because she was not in the national eye. But she did face crap, and face it down, That’s a given. Just because she has not been in the nres for it doesn’t mean it never happened.

  2. Yeah, be masculine and vote for the guy on high-heeled shoes who wears make-up and spends two hours a day on his dyed hair styling, wears diapers, and has a sycophantic side-kick who wears eyeliner. Both of who are congenital liars and demonstrated cowards.

Or vote for a competent woman.
