News Flash For Dim Bulb Donnie. That Isn’t OUR “Heritage”!

Damn Sheriff! Ain’t this a mess?   Well, if it isn’t, it’ll sure do until the mess gets here   Tommy Lee Jones   No Country For Old Men

Why does this keep happening to me? I know I have a healthy case of CRS (Can’t Remember Shit), But I think I’d recall somebody handing me a degree as a professional dipshit whisperer, and sending me out into the GOP wastelands to covert the clueless. Yet, here I go again.

OK, look Baby Donnie Redux, maybe I don’t know you, but I sure as hell know you. Just another rich, privileged, self indulgent white snot, with no urgent need to actually make a living or a contribution, and blessed with an IQ equal to the wattage of a night light bulb. But let’s give this a shot anyway, shall we?

In your speech to Dipshit Sr’s convention last night, you waxed poetically about the glories of the confederate flag, and confederate statues and monuments, calling them a cherished part of our national heritage. You are so full of shit. There is not a single thing that you mentioned or referred to last night that has any place in the history of the United States!

In the middle 1860’s, a bunch of rich, racist white assholes decided that they were so wedded to owning other human beings that they not only threatened to secede from the United States, they went ahead and did it! They declared themselves The Confederate States of America, and enshrined it with the Articles of the Confederacy. They set up their own government, with their own President, issued their own worthless money, and raised a standing army, which they sent into aggressive war against the United States. Every single thing that you so lovingly described last night has absolutely no place in the history of the United States. Those are all Confederate symbols.

And you know what, you flaming idiot? They fucking lost! It took longer than it should have, and cost more lives, but they got their asses kicked. And on the day that the artricles of surrender were signed at the Appomattox courthouse, the Confederate States of America ceased to exist!

New flash, you witless wonder. Losers don’t get trophies! When my Golden Knights lost a couple of years ago, we didn’t get to bring the Stanley Cup to Vegas for an almost made it parade down the Strip, and we didn’t get to buy a bunch of Almost Stanley Cup Champion t-shirts either.

In my younger years, I was fortunate enough to traipse all over the beautiful country of Germany, from Frankfurt to Munich, from Dachau to The Eagles Nest. And in Germany, they don’t have statues of Adolf Hitler. And none of Himmler, Goering, Goebbels or Roehm either. There are no German military bases named after them  The sites and museums that remain, and are very well cared for are a painful reminder of a deep national shame, not a glorious celebration either.

So please, widdle man, the next time you’re called on to make a speech praising Daddums, stick to something safe, like his brilliance as a real estate developer, and then hold your hand out for the check. Because when you stray into American history and heritage, your head is so far up your ass that you can see your lungs. Here endeth the lesson.

  1. Nicely put Joe. Guess the irony is lost on any cult member, but daddy keeps Adolph’s ode to himself next to his bed, thereby embracing the Nazi party, not democracy. Hey if I want advice from a moron, dimwit donnie, the talking beard, will be at the top of the list.

  2. The Articles of Confederation were written in 1777 and ratified in 1781 and served in place of the eventual Constitution of the United States before it was ratified in 1787.

The Confederate States Constitution was adopted in 1861 and was the governing document of the Confederacy. There is no such thing as “the Articles of the Confederacy”.

    • John Mosby, right? The gray ghost. Nit pick, much? The point is that the rich (and I mean rich) planters bought off the Republicans of the day and had them commit treason in the name of their voters, who no where near came to a majority of the inhabitants. Why, because they wanted to not only keep their slaves, they wanted to take them west.

I grew up in a town that literally made money off of the glorification of traitors. I know the sad history of that time. Don’t nit pick to try to dilute the argument against symbols of treason and evil. Not hate, evil.

      • Thanks for stirring me to action. I have seen many names. I looked up “War of the Rebellion” and that is what a Wikipedia article says is the official U.S. government name for the hostilities.

    • I appreciated your correction. My memory is too faulty for me to have seen that. I think that PolitiZoom lacks the money and time to be able to edit the columns that it publishes, so thank you for your help. I did not see that you were trying “to dilute the argument against symbols of treason and evil.” Perhaps I am too obtuse to see that you were doing more than nit-picking. In any case, I did not perceive that you diluted the author’s argument. Have a good day.

    • A couple of points that need clearing up about the picture.

!. The Bellamy salute PREDATED the Nazi Party by a couple of decades (Francis Bellamy selected it back around 1890 or so to accompany HIS Pledge of Allegiance).

      2. It only shows the END of the salute. Bellamy’s choice actually invoked the ancient Roman salute which started by sharply raising the forearm across the chest (with the hand landing over the heart) and then extending it forward (presumably in the direction of the flag). The Nazi salute simply extended the arm up and forward (halfhearted salutes–where the hand was basically just raised up from whatever position it was in–were common in informal situations or the person saluting was in a bit of a hurry).

      3. It displays a hell of a lot more diversity than we can expect from the Republican National Convention (or from Republican-backed policies).

      • I do know when it came in, but the ‘hand across the chest’ was the Balch salute which predated the Bellamy version. In that, it started with the outstretchewd arm, and transitioned via hand to forehead and ended with hand on heart The only change during the Bellamy salute was to start with palm down and end with palm up.

ps – sorry about the typo and the denigration of Colm Bán

  3. They do love the losers don’t they?

    Hitler’s Nazis lost.

    The Confederate South lost

They should be ready for their loss in November then.

  4. I always wonder why if the South lost, how come the North got stuck with their sorry asses. Add to that, a lot of the Confederate star-effing didn’t come about until about 100 years later when we tried to civilize their sorry racist asses.
Finally, the reason you don’t see Nazi memorabilia in Germany is they are suitably embarrassed and declared it illegal to display.

  5. Thank you so very much for keeping it REAL in this article. I’m African American so I truly appreciate all that you said. Slavery was living everyday in HELL for my ancestors. Thank you for acknowledging this sad part of the American nightmare for African Americans.

  6. This is one of the most hilarious commentaries I’ve seen on here, almost ever!!???? I really needed a belly laugh today. “Murfster” I think you have an incredible way with words. Thank you. Interestingly, I just picked up on old second hand book about the early history of the colonization (invasion) of the Americas that is chilling. Amazing coincidence that I then see your comments reflecting my reading. Tragic.
