It is truly an act of magic that Trump managed to convince the lower classes that he is like them and he cares about them. Oh, he intrigues them because he lives a consequence-free life that they envy. That’s always been the case. But Trump would never have a beer and hang out with his supporters and that’s where it all becomes truly incomprehensible. Trump is a germophobe and wants nothing to do with his MAGAs except to get their money.

Well, whatever news they watch or read is provided by right-wing sources, under absolutely NO obligation to tell the TRUTH–only spread the propaganda as dictated by the billionaire owners. And, of course, they’ve had a decade of Drumpf talking about the mainstream media as “fake news” (that seems to have stuck a lot better than Sarah Palin’s “lamestream media” slam from a decade prior–I think that lasted about 2 or 3 years but even the right-wing noise machine kind of dropped it) especially if that media is reporting the truth or criticizing Drumpf and his policies.
I think one of the first things the next Democratic president does is issue an executive order reinstating the Fairness Doctrine and applying it to ALL media (then watch as it gets an immediate court challenge by the right-wing as an “unconstitutional overreach of Presidential authority” under the legal principle of “rules for thee but not for me”).
Don’t forget that his supporters watched and read news media controlled by Murdoch and the Koch brothers, who amplified the fallacy that the grift, philandering and cheating meant nothing because he was going to “drain the swamp”, “own the liberals”, and restore control of the country to the “right kind of people”…..
