Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter/X yesterday to announce the publication of her memoir, which she has apparently found time to work on between her efforts to subvert the duly elected government of the U.S., worm her way into the affections of Trump and thus into the V.P. slot and composing 15 second TikTok videos of her powerlifting prowess:

Huffington Post

“Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) announced her upcoming memoir on Tuesday, prompting immediate backlash and mockery from critics on social media.

“MTG” will tell Greene’s “side of the story,” the firebrand Republican told the conservative Washington Examiner in promoting the book, which has a Nov. 21 publication date.

“” I’m always controversial, but I think this book might be a little controversial with some of the stories,” said Greene, who has denied climate change and promoted conspiracy theories during her time in Congress.””

*Rolls eyes* A little controversial she says… she’ll probably accuse President Biden of strangling puppies.

Here’s her Tweet/announcement and the promised sarcasm…

Does anyone speak Neanderthal?

🤣

Nah, the Heritage Foundation will buy 250,000 copies and warehouse them with their 400,000 copies of Jr.’s “Triggered”.

Yup.

Ditto.

🤣🤣🤣

🤣

Yup.

🤣🤣🤣

The worse thing about this development is that Lauren Boebert will have to find a book deal.

Maybe she could take some publishers to a play…

  2. I get all the jokes about the intended audience’s reading “skills.” However, Marge has got a reach around, oops, I mean work-around for that. It will be a book with lots, LOTS of full-page pictures in it, with maybe even a few “fold-outs.” Pics of Marj at Trailer Park Sat. night keggers, modeling a variety of “come f**k me guys” attire. Maybe with some bikini photos next to the inflatable pool or come hither pics of her on the fold out couch in her trailer. And, just like when I was a young man the old line about Playboy Magazine will come back – the one about “I buy it for the articles” so MAGAs can have an excuse for purchasing this trash. (Full discloure, all those decades ago I DID in fact read the articles as there was plenty of great writing in Playboy but of course I also looked at the pictorials. Same with more than a few women I might add!)

      • I’m in my mid sixties and back in school (both h.s. and college) was active in performing arts as well as being a jock. IOW I spent a lot of time with people who had rather progressive tendencies and frankly some of the gals I knew were as into the pictorials as guys were. But you’re right. Back in the day there was a LOT of good and even great writing and some of those feature monthly Playboy Interviews were legendary and got lots of play in mainstream media!

In addition to all that were the jokes. There was always a page of them on one of the panels on the back of the centerfold and there were always some gems. And the cartoons! My favorite which I framed was the traditional full page color one that came right after the playmate of the month stuff. This one depicted an old pirate ship with a dude at the end of the plank about to be cast off into the sea. The captain, surrounded by crew is looking at the guy, who has a smart-assed look on his face as he’s bent over “mooning” everyone. And the caption? It was the Captain saying “A goddam troublemaker to the end!” When I was on active duty after I became the Vehicle Regs/Traffic NCO at HQMC (then in Arlington) I had it up on the wall above my desk. You couldn’t see it from the service window. What’s funny is that everyone loved it, even the Col. came down to look at it and laughed. Still, when we had an IG inspection the Top told me the skipper said to make sure I put it away the day our Inspector was due to show up and do his thing. But I forgot and damn if he didn’t make it inside the door to my little domain ahead of me so I had no chance to shove it in a desk drawer. He looked at it, then looked at me and TRIED to maintain a stern, outraged face but couldn’t help himself and burst out laughing!

Anyway, there was a time when that publication was well worth the price of an annual subscription. Even if one found the pics distasteful.

      • Playboy paid their writers very well, and that’s why there was first-rate writing in the magazine by many well-know writers and also unknown authors. I read it for the Playboy interviews and the feature articles. I also enjoyed the photospreads of beautiful women.

  3. November 21st – Is this relevant? On that date in 1620 there was the Signing of Mayflower Compact where 41 male passengers on the Mayflower, prior to landing at Plymouth, Massachusetts, signed the Mayflower Compact, by which they agreed to abide by the laws of the new government they would establish. It was designated as the first real constitution of modern times. It was democratic, an acknowledgment of liberty under law and order and the giving to each person the right to participate in the government, while they promised to be obedient to the laws. There’s an irony in MGT’s choice of date to release her doodle pad.

    • I doubt there was that much thought put into the date. If I’m not mistaken, most new books are released on Tuesdays.

Besides, there are other historical events that happened on November 21–some are truly jaw-dropping when bringing up MTG and some are more the “well, that figures” variety.

In 1905, Einstein published his paper that led to E=mc².
In 1877, Edison announced the invention of the phonograph.
In 1920, “Bloody Sunday” happened in the Irish War for Independence.
In 1953, the British Museum announced the Piltdown Man to be a hoax.
In 1979, the US Embassy in Islamabad was set on fire by Muslim radicals.
In 1985, US Navy analyst Jonathan Pollard was arrested for spying for Israel.
In 2019, Benjamin Netanyahu was indicted on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

And, in 1965, Icelandic singer/songwriter Björk was born.

  4. I think Twitter user Scootmeister was being optimistic. I’m betting the book will be in the bargain bins on “Black Friday” at the latest. By Christmas, I’d expect the book stores to be offering one free copy with a purchase of anything–a cup of coffee, a bagel, a pack of gum, Hell, step in the store, and you get a copy (just, please, don’t throw them away in any trash cans inside the store–take them home and line the bird cages, use as kitty litter or shredded for hamster/guinea pig/rabbit beds, use as insect repellants).

  5. Who cares! But I’m wondering if she was dumb enough to put anything about the stolen election and the insurrection in it. Sh wouldn’t be the first one to do something stupid like that. I mean that has been a huge part of her life running around the country and going to court for Cheeto man. She was at some big time meetings. It would be hilarious if the straw that broke the camel’s back was a book by mtg. Now Im sorta interested in it.
