News just broke that Joel Greenberg, the former tax collector and pimp to Matt Gaetz, is going to plead guilty to six of the thirty-three federal charges brought against him, plus — drum roll, please — he has agreed “to cooperate fully with the United States in the investigation and prosecution of other persons.” And that means you, Matthew.
The “suicide” countdown for Greenberg starts now. It is suggested that he stay away from all open windows and all dudes with Russian accents for the next 72 hours.

I'll be shocked if Greenberg gives up any legislators. Besides, if present trends continue, Gaetz will remain in office regardless*.

Skepticism is understandable. But bear in mind that Matt Gaetz’ wealthy father has always been able to get him out of DUIs but this is a little bigger deal now, sex trafficking, the Mann Act and so forth are federal charges.
Gaetz is a lawbreaker, not a lawmaker. This charade in Florida needs to end. Although there are those who say don’t celebrate Gaetz’ demise from politics too soon, because Donald Trump Jr. might run for his seat. We’ll jump off that bridge when we come to it.
Spare the rod, ( no dana I’m not advocating child abuse), spoil the child. Matty never paid for putting himself & others at risk for MULTIPLE DUIs. So here we are.

I think we’ve all had enough of these crooked repub oligarchs. If Trump & his family aren’t enough, we also have to deal with his political allies over & over again. Omg, do they have no conscience or morals at all? We’ve had 4 straight yrs. of this crap, & they don’t even get spanked, they’ve been getting reprieve after reprieve. I’ve got my gut full, I can’t stand to look at them. Maybe mouthy Qanon Marjorie will have to go harrass the citizens on her own, but she probably won’t have any trouble finding another one just like her to go with her. Gaetz may a little too busy. Jeez.
The answer to your question is no. And to know how low it can go, watch the nice Christian German soldiers go village to village. First, they rounded up the men/boys & shot them all in front of their wives, daughters, mothers, & grandmothers. Then they either gathered the female adults & children, stripped them & shot them in front of a trench, or put them in a barn & burned them alive. Village after village in russia. Fact. How low? How heartless? How soulless? There is no basement in Hell. Of course, I expect some here to scoff, as if it couldn’t happen here. Yeah. We’re just so damn special. Right. I wish my 5 uncles that fought in that war, none still alive, were here to answer these children who believe in a fairy godmother.

They may not be able to prove Gaetz did those things, at least not enough to convict him. We can hope, though.

Perhaps not. But if Gaetz did pay for sex with a minor, what evidence would they need? If he did engage in that behavior, it seems like they have electronic records of the payments. Then Greenberg’s testimony, for what that’s worth. Then the victim’s testimony…not hard to give her immunity for prostitution if she testifies.
I don’t know, I say if he did the crime he’s probably doing the time.
However, there seems to be agreement that that though a minor at the time (17 years old), she told everyone she was over the age. Gaetz is still despicable, but he may skate on this one. Unknowingly having sex with someone going on eighteen does make him a pedophile. He (and many others) are also cautionary tales for the wisdom of the biblical injunction against premarital sex, and abiding by it can save you from a world of hurt.
Am I skeptical, yes you don’t get justice in America you buy it. I cringe at the ‘other people ‘ statement of terms.

The most interesting statement in the cooperation agreement release was that Greenberg is cooperating on crimes he committed with other “men.” Not “individual A,” not “an accolade,” but men, plural.

Good point. I guess the thing is they gave liberals and progressives an irresistible opening by declaiming all these decades against what they imagine about the sex lives of liberals and progressives while regularly showing themselves to be just like anyone else. Seeing as we are all humans, it is not surprising that the full range of human behavior can be found among those of any political stripe.
