This is the state of play. McCarthy has lost seven rounds. Where is his master plan? Where is the “event” that Trump teased last night, how all the Smart, initial cap, Republicans were going to do something wonderful.

We can laugh if we want but this is all the talk this morning on Steve Bannon’s War Room. He is calling for 100 days of Trump as Speaker. Let’s remember that we never dreamed that January 6th was possible either. The idea is to put the pressure on the “moderate” Republicans and see if they have the guts to vote against Trump in a public setting. And Trump is in on this nonsense, hence his “truth” this morning about invading Mexico as if he had the power. We need to keep our eyes on these radicals. Think about who these 20 are. A few of them are fearful of criminal charges so they see no downside.

Update: this went nowhere in the end. Trump wound up in fourth place during the vote with ONE vote (Gaetz). That left him tied with “present”.
