It’s not a good idea to anger your sycophants. They know Trump is lying to them, and after all the promises broken, they’re rebelling. Their god has feet of clay. Realization of this is hard on his people. And they’re making their displeasure known. From the Guardian:
Donald Trump’s efforts to dismiss the criticism over his administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files as a “hoax” showed no sign of working on Thursday as more prominent figures from across the political spectrum emerged to attack the US president, and some of his supporters recorded videos burning their signature Make America Great Again hats.
That‘s not a good sign. MAGA is fanatical about tRump. They buy anything and everything. And to burn something? Whoa. I’ll bet the people who got MAGA-related tattoos are wondering how long it will take to remove them. They could very well be putting their MAGA items in a drawer so they don’t see them, and don’t want to be reminded of what they have, and quit wearing them.
But there are MAGAts publicly burning their hats. Publicly. And it’s making the news. Do you think Agent Orange’s people have let him know about this? It’s unlikely because he would be raging about fake news. It will be challenging to be around him when he finds out, and he will. These are his people turning on him. There’s no way to avoid that.
The podcast host Theo Von, who attended Trump’s inauguration and told Fox News it was “inspiring”, commented, “yeah what changed” on a video of the vice-president, JD Vance, appearing on Von’s show in 2024 and calling for the full Epstein list to be released. Even some of Trump’s most loyal allies in Congress say they are not satisfied by his decision not to release additional files from the Epstein case. Still, House Republicans voted twice this week to block Democratic attempts to force the public release of all Epstein files within 30 days, with only one Republican, Ralph Norman of South Carolina, voting in favor.
Damn. House Republicans again are being all talk and no action. They’re strong in public, and squashed under El Presidente Imbécil’s thumb in private. Too bad. Even Thom Tillis didn’t stand by his angry anti-tRump rhetoric. It probably wouldn’t have helped, but to back down when he’s retiring next year? It’s sad. And here we have something unexpected:
Trump’s former vice-president, Mike Pence, told CBS News that “I think the time has come for the administration to release all of the files regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s investigation and prosecution”, while the conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer, a frequent close adviser to Trump, called for the appointment of a special counsel to handle the Epstein files investigation. “Obviously, this is not a complete hoax given the fact that [Epstein associate] Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving 20 years in prison in Florida for her crimes and activities with Jeffrey Epstein, who we know is a convicted sexual predator,” she said.
WHAM. There ya go. Laura definitely has a point. Also, let me remind you that Ghislaine has offered to speak before Congress. Check out Ursula’s column from a while back. MAGA is not satisfied. Burning hats show that. The more the Mango Mandarin denies there was anything, the more they want to see the files. He’s made a mess of this and has told AG Pam Blondi and FBI leader Kash Patel to back him up on the denials. It didn’t work. It isn’t working. We shall see what happens and hope to make use of it. We shall see.
Just found out MAGA is uniting behind tRump after the WSJ article came out, already covered by Jason. Take a look at this article by CNN. Feh. I call bullsh!t. Steve Bannon, get stuffed. I’m PISSED. There’s more to this! Ghislaine will still have something to say about this case.
