When you do it, you need to do it right. Yes, you can manipulate pictures, but you have to consider what’s around the area pictured. You need to look at all of it. The ceiling in the Kennedy Center did not fall. Lutnick faked it, and it’s obvious to those of us who pay attention to such things. A technical theater background comes with certain advantages. But there are other people out there who noticed.
When there were previous problems, the president at the time simply had it fixed. There was no need to shut it down for *years*. Something like a piece of the ceiling coming down could be easier to fix than one might think. Yes, there’s a hole in it, but sheesh, no need to panic about the Center being unable to have an event. How many people actually look up that everyone had to freak out about the “hole” and shut down the whole Kennedy Center?
We know what shutting it down means, as discussed yesterday. It means Trumpification, that is, ugly. The ceiling-fall dilemma has already been shown to be fake. Is Lutnick now Chicken Little? The ceiling is falling! The ceiling is falling! Good grief. No, it isn’t. We are supposed to think this is very bad, but they didn’t even rope off the area where it supposedly fell. Really?
After watching the video, it looks even more fake. Plaster does not explode in a pattern when it lands. It also looks like flour. It doesn’t sparkle as the video showed. Why isn’t the debris white when the ceiling is white? And, as per one comment in the article, security cameras aren’t low to the ground. Even a brief look shows it’s fake. Lutnick was trying to pull the wool over our eyes, and it did not work. He seems to forget that people in America have brains. We don’t take everything as gospel. We think.
They are struggling to find excuses to shut it down. They are crying wolf when there is none. They are trying anything and everything to take over the Center and Campus to turn it into Trumpland. They are dishonoring the person for whom it was named. Trump’s arrogance and vanity have no bounds. He was not satisfied with his ballroom (grr) and his triumphal arch. No, he had to go try to ruin something else. The jealousy is ridiculous.
How much longer can we push back with only one person on the board who is the voice of sanity? How much longer can it be blocked? We have lawyers to fight for us. But Trump has SCOTUS in his hip pocket. It’s worrisome, especially when considering he could rip the whole thing down to put in some sort of ridiculous amphitheater. No, it’s beyond worrisome. It’s frightening!
With gratitude for Raw Story:
However, critics quickly pointed out details in the video posted by Lutnick that cast doubt on the authenticity of the video and the legitimacy of Lutnick’s demands for a Kennedy Center shutdown. “Did you call in sick before it collapsed?” asked former FBI agent Phil Kennedy. //// “Why was the yellow caution sign in the exact place where the ceiling fell in, before it fell in?” wondered Andrew Feinberg, a White House correspondent for The Independent. //// “This is the most staged s— I’ve ever seen,” wrote progressive political commentator Mike Nellis. //// “The way that shatters looks more like a bad AI edit than a slow frame security camera,” noted political consultant and journalist Adam Cochran.
The video is posted in the Raw Story article being referenced. It would be interesting to have other viewpoints from you, the readers. So here is the latest effort from Trump and his lackeys to ruin another part of America, as if they haven’t done enough already. Lies, lies, and more lies. Trump wants the Kennedy Center and Campus more than anything, because he thinks he is better than Kennedy. He’s not content with the ridiculous ballroom and triumphal arch. No, he wants his place in history as being the best president ever.
History will not look back on him kindly. It will be about what he’s ruined. He may very well be the worst president ever, and Nixon was pretty bad, except for getting us out of Vietnam. Trump can’t get out of a war he started. Trump can’t admit we lost. And Trump is scared of what’s coming down the road with the blue wave. He thinks he’s going to be impeached. Other things are more important than that, although we might get to it eventually. Cutting his war powers should be first. The list grows with each week, even each day. He’s going to have a lot of hard questions. Good.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula\
