As you may have heard, Donald Trump is telling his allies who are subpoenaed by the January 6 commission to just ignore the subpeonas. That has led to a discussion of whether the subpoena power will be enforced and believe it or not, there are some people in Washington saying that they won’t be enforced. That set Rick Wilson off on a tirade and it’s well worth the four minutes of your time it will take to hear him out.

The issue here, as you will gather throughout the rest of today, is that there are rumors afoot that the subpoenas will not be enforced, versus rumors that immediate criminal referrals will be made to the Department of Justice.

It stands to reason that Rick Wilson has good sources, but he could be wrong. It’s always better to err on the side of caution, so that’s why I posted his tape, in case he is right and we need to immediately stand up and demand the subpoenas be enforced.

This is today’s flashpoint in the culture war, folks. We will keep our eyes sharply peeled and bring you the latest.

    For many people, money talks. I introduced legislation with @RepValDemings
    @RepCicilline
    @RepJoeNeguse
    @RepRaskin
    @RepDean
    to fine witnesses up to $100,000 for defying congressional subpoenas. We should use the House Inherent Contempt Power to #EnforceTheSubpoenas.

  2. I have read about the criminal referral idea, they sounded serious and I assumed that’s what they were going to do. If not, I totally agree with Rick Wilson.

  3. This just in. “The House Select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection said it is close to referring former Trump adviser Steve Bannon to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution, due to his lack of cooperation with its subpoena. — “Mr. Bannon has indicated that he will try to hide behind vague references to privileges of the former president,” said Rep Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., chair of the committee, and Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., the committee’s vice chair in a joint statement. — “We will not allow any witness to defy a lawful subpoena or attempt to run out the clock, and we will swiftly consider advancing a criminal contempt of Congress referral,” Thompson and Cheney said.

    So I don’t know where Wilson is getting this. Maybe it’s just more disinfo from the disinfo factory.

  4. I listened to an interview on All Things Considered this afternoon they had with Zoe. Sounds like the committee is prepared for his usual brand of happy horse-shit and they have plans in place to counter it.

    Ought to be interesting.

  5. The dems need to learn HOW TO FIGHT they are the biggest bunch of passive oh ok’ers I have ever seen! They need to tear into the GOP and demand the DOJ at all levels to start prosecuting every single case including trump and his minions! The dems just keep on letting this shit slide on by! Its time to STAND UP AND FIGHT or watch DEMOCRACY DIE WITHOUT EVEN TRYING TO SAVE IT! Every day that passes trump gets more emboldened! He is one sick puppy who actually believes his own shit! His henchmen should be made living examples of a cost to pay for trying to overthrow the American way! And bannon the #2 twink needs to be MADE A EXAMPLE OF! Remember Mussolini, remember what Italy did to a fascist dictator! If these people get in it will take decades to restore what we will have lost so lets kick their ass’s out of any form of govt! VOTE AGAINST ALL FASCISM!
