There isn’t a lot of information out at this time about what claimed the life of Lindsey Graham, 71. The press release says he died from a “brief, sudden illness.” So speculate away as to what it could have been. A fatal heart attack? A fatal stroke? I do hope that this doesn’t become as top secret as Mitch McConnell’s state of health.
Graham, who was first elected to the House in 1994 and the Senate in 2002, was running for reelection this year. He had been a staunch ally of President Donald Trump on most matters but had broken with the president on some issues, such as foreign policy.
“He’s outstanding. He’s been at my side for a long time,” Trump said in a telerally for Graham last month, acknowledging that the two men had dueled for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. “After that fight was over, we were best of friends, and he’s helped me as much as anybody in the Senate.”
That’s all the post has, with the caveat that this is a developing story. Graham was on television recently so his illness has been brief indeed. No word at this time on who will succeed him in running for his Senate seat.

Also, just a thought, if he recently did some prolongued travel he may have developed a thrombus which had flickef-off, travelled and lodged, then blocked an area in brain/heart. All conjecture, but it’s a wait and hear …

He flip-flopped on his support for Trumplestilskin so often and so many times we needed a scorecard, although he supported the Orange One most of the time.
It’s amazing how little time a bloodstream aneurism gives its victims — only a few hours. May he RIP.
