It seems one of the chuckleheads with One America News Network said something outside of what she was supposed to, and now she’s not employed anymore. OOOOOOPS. Nice going, Ms. Cuccia. There’s about the proverbial snowball’s chance in hell she’ll get it back. She might look good on TV … as long as she keeps her opinions to herself, that is. Or, she may consider becoming a podcaster, not that there aren’t a gazillion of those already *cough*. Or, heh, she may just end up bagging groceries.
If you are one of tRump’s people, you say only what he wants you to say (unless you’re Steve Bannon or Joe Rogan). You have to make him look all powerful and godlike, and woe betide the one who crosses him. And you do NOT criticize his people and the choices he makes. I have no need or even desire to check out OAN. But, on with the show. From Raw Story:
While poking around all the likely news sources this morning, I landed on this piece from the Associated Press: “OAN’s Pentagon Reporter Learns the Limits of Expressing Her Own Opinion.” Here’s the subhead: “The day the face-eating leopard ate my face.” OK, the subhead is mine, but the story is bonkers, scary, and one of the most MAGA things I have ever read.
Here’s the lede from the AP’s David Bauder, who did an admirable job of playing this one straight, even if I will predict he typed this beauty through gritted teeth: “Assigned to cover the Pentagon for the conservative outlet One America News Network, Gabrielle Cuccia didn’t pretend to be an unbiased reporter. She describes herself as “a MAGA girl” who is unapologetically defiant in her support of President Donald Trump. “Yet days after publicly criticizing a Trump appointee, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Cuccia found herself out of a job.”
You can already see where this is heading. I started laughing as soon as I read that, and there is more to come! Here’s a quick side note: To start with, and there are a million points of entry for a bizarre story like this one, let’s just get this out of the way quick: One America News Network (OAN) — and why isn’t it OAN-N? That’s a damn good question. Why isn’t it? Seems to be another piece of proof that far right MAGA people (heh, yea, “people”) are idiots.
This is purely a propaganda network (good gods, they have Getz working for them) to bathe Agent Orange in all the possible ways of how good he is and how well he knows what he’s doing. He’s going to Make America Great Again *snort*. Seems to me he’s gone completely in the opposite direction. “Wipe that grin off your face, Vladimir …” tRump is all powerful, after all, and *never* makes a mistake. If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.
So when “MAGA girl” took against the Pentagon’s restrictive access issues for journalists, and rightwing propagandists like herself under the Trump regime, she wrote an endless Substack piece about Hegseth and was promptly removed from her job. I debated whether to link to it here, because it is longer than War and Peace (get that girl six editors, a fire extinguisher, and while yer at it, another martini for Pete), and because thanks to pathetic, bought-off, anti-America power tools like herself our country is teetering on the brink, because there are actually people who swallow her s–t whole, and then spit it out to their friends. But what the hell, here it is: If you decide you do have about four hours to waste, don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’s truly gruesome.
I haven’t dared to go look because yuck. There are the links to the AP and Substack pieces. There is more hilarity in the one I’m using. Link to that article up top, as usual. Time to go.

Um, how would OANN be pronounced as “Onan?” It really wouldn’t necessarily be pronounced any differently than OAN. Doubling an “n” doesn’t suddenly change the pronunciation much less switch its placement in a word. It’s not like the name “Ann” is pronounced like “Nan” so “OANN” would still be pronounced like “OAN” (probably like “own” or akin to “owen” if the “o” and “a” are pronounced as two separate letters–so the “oa” behave more like in “coagulate” rather than “coat”).
And, as a minor technicality, while the story of Onan has been linked to masturbation, most legitimate Biblical scholars believe his deed was actually one of the Catholic Church’s APPROVED methods of contraception: The “withdrawal” method. (The reason Onan died was he violated God’s “law” where a man was supposed to have sex with his dead older brother’s wife if she hadn’t borne a child before his death and the child that he sired would be his dead brother’s heir. THAT was the reason for Onan’s being struck dead not because he was trying to not get his own wife pregnant.)

Hmm. Gabrielle Cuccia kind of looks like she’s one of those “immigrants” who should be rounded up in an ICE raid. I mean, maybe it’s just the picture but she does look just a little darker than your average MAGAt.
She looks that way in all the pictures that showed up in a search when I was looking for something for this column. She also looks like something that begins with a w and ends with e. Yup.
