We just can’t escape! Here’s another person who is absolutely disgusting, yet thinks he’s done nothing wrong. He’s just as bad as yesterday’s Late Night, and that’s saying something. He’s incredibly callous. He’s incredibly uncaring. A mind that would do something that you are about to see needs to be checked out for its mindset. Thanks to Raw Story:
Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) touted President Donald Trump’s naval blockade of Iran because he said it was “literally starving” the people of the country. In an interview with Newsmax host Ed Henry this week, Marshall argued that the U.S. military was “locked and loaded” after Trump suggested to CNBC that he was willing to begin bombing Iran again if negotiations failed.
That is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever heard (except yesterday). Starve them. I cannot comprehend the mindset that would be pleased with such a thing. Obviously, he doesn’t care about all the *other* ships that are waiting to get through, who have things *we* need, too. And have mercy on us. Don’t let Trump (and Hegseth) start throwing things at Iran again. Haven’t we embarrassed ourselves enough? Aren’t we running out of munitions that take years to replenish?
“And, well, again, we have our foot on Iran’s neck right now,” the senator explained. “When the president walks in the room, he’s negotiating. There’s a camera in front of him. He’s negotiating, and again he’s negotiating with these irrational religious zealots, that’s just next to impossible, so they need to know he’s serious and he’s dead serious.”
There is no such thing. He’s not negotiating. He doesn’t know the language. But apparently, he thinks he is. His mind changes on a whim, so *he* does not *need* to be negotiating. We need someone a whole lot smarter than that. “Foot on Iran’s neck”? Not even close. Maybe in his dreams it is, because right now Iran has us over a barrel.
“If this turns into weeks, I think that’s when we’re going to start getting antsy,” he continued. “But also, we had this embargo working as well, the blockade.” “And we’re literally starving them both financially, as well as they can’t feed themselves either very long.” Marshall argued that the lack of negotiations with Iran was “a good thing.” “The embargo, the blockade is there as well,” he remarked. “I’ve got confidence in the president. That the president’s got this.”
There’s that starving again. The problem is that the regime will be just fine. They don’t care about the people. Once again, we could be considered to be hurting civilians. Our ‘regime’ doesn’t care about the people either. Look at the situation here. Do we need groceries or a roof over our heads? Trump doesn’t care. At this point, he has enough money for 10 lifetimes. He’s the ‘president’ so his needs will be tended to. Hopefully not when, but happening sooner because of his lifestyle, but when he leaves office, what will the next president do? Will we make it that long? The country is one big ball of stress.
See you tomorrow!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Well, with luck, Marshall will be voted out come November. C’mon Kansas, quit being so red. Read the ‘room’.
I hope so. This man does not belong in Congress with saying this kind of crap and having that mindset. I was stunned to read this. We’re in 2026, and he’s talking about starving people, when the Iranian regime doesn’t give a damn about them.
With his comments, it’s difficult to remember that he was / is a medical doctor, specialty OBGYN. Doesn’t the Hippocratic Oath start with “first do no harm?” Maybe he just fits in with the other medical doctors in Congress. It’s also hard to believe that Kansas’ two senators made the kind of news you read and refer to us on two days this week. We do have groups whose aim is “Defeat Roger Marshall.” When he was first elected in 2016 his House district was the western half of the state; the remainder had 3 districts. 2020 saw gerrymandering, but that failed to defeat Sharice Davids by taking away half of Kansas City and giving her rural counties.
Yes, indeed, the Hippocratic Oath starts with “First, do no harm”. I decided to go look it up. It’s actually very interesting!
I had no idea he was a doctor.
So their Senators keep popping up in my “Late Night” pieces? I hadn’t really thought much about it, but now it’s a bit disturbing. That shouldn’t be happening, especially not with *both* of them. It’s unnerving and a little sad. Our Senators here are good. I keep voting them back into office. That’s how pleased with them I am.
Well, here’s to hoping you get better ones!
