And it’s about damn time. More and more people are calling for it every day, and not on an idle whim, either. The problem is Congress. Pushing an impeachment through seems to be impossible, although we might be surprised. The Senate is the tough part. How many Republican senators are departing who might be willing to throw in with our side? Thanks, Raw Story:
Democratic lawmakers were starting to rethink their strategy going into the midterms and considering the idea of impeaching President Donald Trump, The New York Times reported on Friday. Democrats have long thought it would be more important to focus on affordability and the economy heading into the election cycle, but after Trump’s threat this week to wipe out the entire Iranian civilization, things have changed. His demands amid the ongoing war in Iran, combined with voter outrage, “have opened the floodgates of Democratic calls for the president’s removal.” Now, more than 70 Democrats have called to either impeach Trump or invoke the 25th Amendment.
There are problems with both of those. Trump’s ‘cabinet’ has to start the 25th Amendment process. Congress does the impeaching. Neither one looks possible at this time. Republicans are apparently backing away from either choice because they are afraid of Trump. It’s long past the time when they should not be afraid anymore. Our ‘president’ is an imbecile, a petty madman who thinks he’s king of the world when he is actually an orange tin god with no merit and not worth following. MAGA really needs to pay attention to this.
“Formerly hesitant House Democrats are now lining up to file or support articles of impeachment against the president and his top cabinet officials, motivated by what they view as Mr. Trump’s increasingly erratic behavior, and a clamor from their constituents to confront him more aggressively,” The Times reported. Rep. John Larson (D-CT) described his constituents’ feelings and noted that he has received more than 400 calls from people supporting his recent decisions. “Increasingly, voters are demanding impeachment because they’re frustrated,” Larson, who filed 13 impeachment articles against Trump on Monday, told The Times.
Not so sure that going after Trump instead of the things that are hurting Americans the most is a good idea. Yes, get the impeachment started. But don’t forget about us. We. Need. Help. We’re under one heck of a lot of strain, and it needs to be stopped, even possibly start to reverse before they get all the way into the impeachment. That’s also going to take time to prepare. And it might not even get started, anyhow. Do we have enough people for it?
He noted that voters have continued to voice similar sentiments. “It’s long overdue, and why haven’t you guys done that before?” Larson said. Larson is seeking his 15th term in office and facing a tough primary. He said he was drafting the impeachment articles against Trump weeks ago, before Trump made his threatening demands against Iran. He cited voters in his district calling on him to do something, but when Trump made the comments that “foreshadow war crimes,” that was “the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
Oh, heck yes, I’d love to see him impeached. But would trying to do so stop any of his insanity with Iran? Blockading the Strait a second time is full-out foolish! It’s not going to affect Iran, and Trump is holding the WORLD hostage by doing this! If the ships have a way to pay the so-called “toll”, let them go through and do what they need to do! *Everyone* needs products on those ships. Everyone. He’s hurting the world, not Iran. Shut up and get the hell out of the way!
See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Why not focus on both issues? The mess he’s made of the economy, AND his personal maliscious ineptitude. And forget the 25th, impeachment is easier, requiring less votes from less quora. The number one priority of the new government after both houses return to Democratic control.
I wish we could tell that very thing to Democrats. Focus on both. GREAT answer!
