It didn’t take long for people to start brawling for a piece of the void Charlie Kirk left behind. Everyone wants to see themselves as the new leader of the far-right influencers. Everyone wants to think they could take over. The names don’t exactly matter, but they’re pretty well known. I think you’ll recognize them. There are three who are the loudest, and all of them are ridiculously far right. From AlterNet:
Verge writer Tina Nguyen reports it’s been “barely a week before everyone began fighting each other for a piece of” Charlie Kirk. The resulting feeding frenzy is sparking a civil war among MAGA influencers that’s caught up even the leadership of Israel. “It took less than 24 hours for the MAGA influencer coalition that had united behind Kirk’s death to start falling apart. By Wednesday night, at least three high-profile personalities — Candace Owens, Nick Fuentes, and Tucker Carlson — began questioning the Trump administration’s motives, vocally disagreeing with their actions, and, in some cases, suggesting that the evidence against Robinson had been doctored.”
Questioning the Trump administration. Now, isn’t that interesting? That’s practically the last thing I would ever have expected to happen. Trump and his cabinet are far right, even as they insist they aren’t. We know better. We *really* know better. Look at the people who are going after the left, the left critics, the left comedians, the people who are determined that Trump will get exactly what he wants (I’m looking at you, Pam Blondi, Kash Patel, Kristi Gnome). Why are they skeptical of Trump and company?
The trio of anti-Israel, antisemitic, and largely anti-Trump influencers begins with Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, according to Nguyen, who began questioning the veracity of the chat, claiming “Tyler Robinson’s chat tied up all the “inconsistencies and discrepancies and questions … in a neat little bow.” Candace Owens, who Nguyen said has been “cast into the wilderness” by right-wing media over her statements about Israel, also questioned the evidence. Tucker Carlson, meanwhile, is tearing into the Trump administration for using Kirk’s death as a pretext for suppressing free speech. “If they can tell you what to say, they’re telling you what to think; there is nothing they can’t do to you because they don’t consider you human,” Carlson said.
Whoa. I honestly didn’t know they were anti-Trump before I read this article. Of course, I stay as far away from that nonsense as I can. I detest these people. I didn’t expect this, pushing back against Trump. It’s funny, the things we tell ourselves and believe them. Carlson is actually bang on the money. They don’t consider you human.
As an example, immigrants aren’t considered human, because they can treat them as they wish. They’re a blight on the face of America and do these awful things … except they don’t! There’s a very small percentage of these people who have committed major crimes! The rest are damned because they’re illegal immigrants who *want* to work, to help our farmers, to clean places – that’s all! Not human.
And then there’s Fuentes, who Nguyen said “theorized for two hours straight that Robinson was part of a larger Jewish conspiracy to eliminate Kirk, involving several people with connections to the Trump administration, that was covered up by the FBI Director Kash Patel and financed by MAGA-adjacent hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman.” “The contrarian voices within the right have emerged much faster than anyone could have anticipated,” said Nguyen. “Whatever is in the store for the future will be messy.”
WHAM. They most certainly are in a battle, *and* anti-Trump. The things you learn by random chance. I may not want anything to do with these people, but I can’t exactly say they are all bad, not when they’re against Trump. These people have quite a following, and they can use their followers to speak out. I don’t see them doing any more than talking, but…
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thanks. Ursula

it’s a money racket that’s all it is. Millions of dollars, and no they’re not okish.
Fine. I’ll take it out.
I don’t know about the others, but Fuentes has been increasingly critical of Trump since around July 2024. So it is not even so new that he is no longer a Trump supporter. I’m not going to get into it right now but two of the biggest reasons are Trump’s support of Israel and the whole Epstein thing.
Carlson’s true feelings about Trump were revealed in the lawsuit against Fox and part of the reason they cast him out. So, no surprise there.
They may be looking to the future and vying for position when Don-old finally shuffles off this mortal coil.
