Kevin McCarthy has reaffirmed once more that his true position in government is Trump toadie and lap dog and not House minority leader — although come to think of it, the two may be one and the same these days. Never mind. McCarthy does not want House members serving on Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Commission and he has gone to the lengths of threatening them with loss of committee assignments if they so serve.

Obstruction is one thing, desperation is another, and this is both.
Now the irony of course is that if McCarthy actually believed that Antifa and BLM were responsible for the riot, why of course he would welcome the investigative commission with open arms.
McCarthy’s not so much the minority leader as he is Trump bag man, cleaning up the mess and attempting to hide everything. Some legacy. And a final irony is that all this does is put McCarthy’s ambitions of ever becoming Speaker farther out of reach. But he’ll keep chasing “the mirage on the horizon” — isn’t that how Vladimir Putin put it?

McCarthy trying to flex muscle he doesn’t have is pathetic on levels I don’t think they’ve ever mapped. And since Liz Cheney has nothing but time on her hands…(geez, Kevin, ever heard that proverb about keeping your enemies closer than your friends?)
