They just won’t give up on the stupidity. Trump and his ‘board’ are determined to get his name on there somehow. And they’re also determined to shut it down for repairs and refreshes. With Trump involved, we know what that means. It’s going to be Trump-ified and hideous, assuming he doesn’t just destroy the Center and the surrounding areas. And with all this going on, Congress is being the monkeys of hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. Of course they haven’t been speaking about it at all. Congress is the one who determines what can be done or not done.
But the Republicans are under Trump’s thumb, and they will do nothing to block this, nothing to modify this, just nothing where the Kennedy Center is concerned. The one person on the ‘board’ is doing everything she can to protect it, but she’s just one person. She needs our support at the very least. We may be the minority party right now, but we could still help and support her.
Is this something that could be considered one of Trump’s vanity projects? It certainly could be. Trump, in one of his more coherent moments, knows he is nothing like Kennedy, and he’s jealous. There’s also that Trump is trying to make his place in history crap before he shuffles off this mortal coil. They’re trying to start building his triumphal arch, as if everything else wasn’t bad enough. It’s going to need to be torn down for the insults to its own versions of sacred ground.

President Donald Trump’s handpicked Kennedy Center board voted Tuesday to immediately shut down the performing arts center over alleged “dire” financial and structural problems, according to a source familiar with the decision.
The vote to shutter the center came shortly after U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper rejected the board’s latest attempt to add Trump’s name to the building’s facade, a move the board says is necessary to save the center from bankruptcy, reported NBC News. “Simply put, defendants cannot install memorials for President Trump or anyone or anything else at the Kennedy Center without Congress’s blessing,” Cooper wrote. “The board resolution bucks a federal court order and a statute Congress enacted.”
Here we are with another BadA$$ judge. When he says no, it means no. They cannot make *any* alterations without proving the need to the court and receiving approval from Congress. They keep trying to do an end run around what the judge has decreed, and he is busting them. Every. Single. Time. And they aren’t giving up, which they should! Just because they are the board for the Kennedy Center and Campus does not mean they can make major alterations to it, A refresh may be okay. A total makeover, which may mean tearing it down and putting something stupid there, such as an outdoor arena, is SO WRONG.
Yes, you have heard about things happening to the Kennedy Center before. But now they think they can shut it down for 2 years, and it’s infuriating! We *know* what will happen if Trump renovates it. Horrible is an understatement. It still doesn’t make any sense why he is screwing around with all of it. Well, jealousy is as good a reason as any. He is not loved as a President like Kennedy was. That’s not going to happen because Trump doesn’t know how to act that way. It’s quite the opposite. Trump is a president who will be hated, if he isn’t already. Trump is screwing the country (and the world, hello Strait of Hormuz). He’s nowhere near Kennedy, so he feels a need to turn it into Trumpland.
Trump and the ‘board’ are not going away and not giving up. Judge Cooper knows *exactly* what Trump is trying to pull off. It’s likely he’ll keep blocking them. Let’s hope that the blocking holds through the end of his term, and he doesn’t start ripping out the interior as he did with the East Wing. Still bitter about that. Please let it not become Trumpified. Doubled, please let him not tear it down. He has other projects. Let this one become quiet. Please.
