I know that a supercut of that loathesome frat boy at Fox News will make your hair stand on end and if you choose to forego it, I won’t blame you. But I think this is a worthwhile expenditure of two minutes to parse through the juvenile, blatantly sexist cracks that the Trump campaign and Fox News are making, which they believe will bring the election home for the GOP. Or, more accurately, I don’t think they do believe this will work. I think that what you’re about to hear is more along the lines of a Hail Mary play. They don’t have anything better and so they’re just throwing it out there hoping that somebody can run with it, or maybe it will grow legs or wings of its own.

I love it that Kamala is an “average woman.” Beg to differ. I’ve known a lot of lawyers and some of them are fairly mediocre people and no great legal talents and they end up making $40,000 to $50,000 and living fairly average lives even though they’re lawyers. Not all lawyers get rich. That’s a fact. But no average lawyer becomes a prosecutor, then ends up in politics and then ends up attorney general of the most populous and richest state in the Union and then goes on to be vice president of the United States. This is not an “average” career trajectory and I doubt that Jesse Watters thinks it is. I’m sure he’s parroting this drivel because he has to peddle something negative and this is the best he’s got.
And the crack about Harris gaining weight. So what? If she gains three dress sizes while in office while doing a credible job as commander in chief, who cares? Is this a fashion show we’re voting on or the job of getting the country run? But it’s the pure undiluted misogyny here, that oh, she’ll gain weight and then she’ll be ugly and God knows ugly women are subhuman at least compared with beautiful women. (But their only use is as ornaments and vessels of pleasure, as you know.) This Is A Man’s Man’s Man’s World as Trump’s walk out music informed the world.
And these cracks are hitting women where they live. That’s the point to be looked at: Why does the GOP think this woman hating Kamala bashing is a winning formula? Are they counting on the adage that nobody hates women more than other women do? When you look at the statistics below, you’ll see where women are putting their efforts and it’s not towards a repressive paternalistic system.
There are a lot of factors going on in this election, all of which devolve to Harris/Walz’s benefit:
- This is now a change election. This isn’t two old white men anymore, now it’s an old white crazy man and a young, vibrant, on the ball woman who also happens to be a POC.
- Trump is basically forced into the position of the incumbent because he’s running a third time for the second term he couldn’t get after he completed his first. America said, “You’re fired!” So even though on a technical basis Kamala is the incumbent, no, Trump is. That’s because the choice is either to see what this new candidate, Kamala, will do or get more of the same old same old we had with Trump — and much worse.
- Project 2025 repulses voters and the abortion issue is going to hang the GOP in a few months. That accounts for a lot of the female support. Women, especially younger women, do not want to give up the rights that their mothers and grandmothers had. If the Republican party can’t grasp this, then they deserve to go straight into the dumpster and stay there because they are profoundly out of touch. Interfering with reproductive rights = subjugation of women and the young gals get it. We all get it. No matter how it’s coated over with phony baloney fake morality and religious twaddle.
- There’s a new energy in this election now, since Joe Biden stepped down. It has confounded everybody. Nobody expected this. This is literally public sentiment in action. Every pundit out there, myself included, predicted chaos if Joe Biden was forced out. But when Joe made the decision himself and passed the torch, a new element, an X factor that nobody knew was there kicked in.
- You could see and feel that X factor right off the bat. And then it only got stronger with the addition of Tim Walz to the ticket and then the polls have all been swinging in Kamala’s favor ever since.
Trump has nothing like this going on in his favor. Not.One.Thing. He is older, crazier, less coherent, less energetic, and more repellant than he has ever been. And all J.D. Vance does is highlight and underscore these deficits.
This is literally an election where the new broom is going to sweep clean. Let me share one anecdote and a few stats which say it all from Heather Cox Richardson’s newsletter dated August 27.
Sam Stein of The Bulwark reported yesterday that the Trump campaign is about to start running ads in the area around Mar-a-Lago. Trump insiders say the campaign has paid almost $50,000 to run ads to make Trump and local donors feel good. On August 14, Kevin Cate, former spokesperson for President Barack Obama, predicted that Trump would spend his first television dollars “in Florida (for his ego and against his team’s advice). And that’s how you’ll know we’re in landslide territory.”
Predictions about future elections and an average of $3.08 will get you a cup of coffee these days, but there are some interesting signs out there today. Pollster Tom Bonier noted what he called “the Harris Effect”: the 13 states that have updated their voters files since July 21—when Biden said he would not accept the Democratic nomination for president—have seen “incredible surges in voter registration relative to the same time period in 2020, driven by women, voters of color, and young voters.”
The registrations of young Black women have almost tripled compared with the same period in 2020. The registrations of young Hispanic women are up by 150%. “Black women overall have almost doubled their registration numbers from 2020,” Bonier wrote.
These changes benefit Democrats, Bonier noted. “Democratic registration has increased by over 50%, as compared to only 7% for Republicans. These new registrants are modeled as +20 pts Dem, as compared to +6 during the same week in 2020.”
The Cook Political Report today moved the electoral votes of Minnesota, New Hampshire, and North Carolina, and the governor’s races in North Carolina and Washington, toward the Democrats. Minnesota, New Hampshire, and the Washington governor have gone from leaning Democratic to likely Democratic wins; the North Carolina governor’s race has gone from Toss Up to Lean Democratic; North Carolina has gone from Lean Republican to Toss Up.
Meanwhile, Trump began the day by posting an advertisement for the fourth “series of Trump digital trading cards,” or NFTs (which are unique digital tokens) featuring heroic images of Trump. People who buy 15 or more of them—at $99 apiece—get a physical trading card as well. Trump said that the physical card has a piece of the suit he wore at the presidential debate, and Trump promises to sign five of them, randomly. Up to 25 people who buy $25,750 worth of the cards with cryptocurrency will be invited to a gala next month at his Jupiter, Florida, golf club.
All Trump is doing is grifting. A sociological phenomenon is taking place and all that dummy can think to do is sell sell sell. I make a prediction: Truth Social is tanking. When Trump can cash out, on September 20, he will, and he’ll burn a lot of MAGAs doing so. That will also be two days after he’s sentenced on September 18 and ten days after the debate with Harris.
We are watching Trump turn into the Hindenburg in real time.

We’re still quite some way from the end of the beginning for Kamala.
We’re well past the beginning of the end for Trump.
Trump will be too late for a large return for his shares—-I read earlier that the CEO (Nunes, I believe), COO, and CFO have already started cashing out their shares….
All these new voter registrations are wonderful until you remember that the magat party is stacking the polling places with their people and they are all prepared to lose or destroy every ballot they think is cast for Harris/Walz.
Might be true, but everything I’ve read indicates that interest by new and/or Democratic & Independent voters is surging and that they are becoming poll workers, too. IIRC, the LAW does NOT allow one political party to stack the workers at polling places, for any of the myriad of positions involved. Also recall GA Gov. Kemp’s work this past week in questioning the MAGA board in his own State.
1] Over the past month the price per share of DJT.stock has gone from $30.15 to $20.10, losing exactly 1/3 of its previousl value. One report I saw indicated that during tradingbtoday the stock bottomed out ar $19.38. The report explained the shares sold by Devin Nunez and other TMTG execs were repurchased by the company “to cover withholding payments to applicable taxing authorities”(?????).
2) The latest from the Now I’ve Seen Everything Department: Has anyone else seen an ad offering an uncirculated $2 bill with an image of Traitor Tot and MAGA inscription overprint on its face? I was stunned, specially at the price! IIRC, for $59.95 (maybe more) you can order defaced and probably worthless currency (is there any law against this sort of thing?). I’ve only seen the spot once, but I usually get to bed by midnight.
Ninety nine dollars? Toilet paper is cheaper, softer, and you get more, so instead of wiping my arse with his cards I’ll stick with good old tp. Why is squirrelboy talking about Kamala’s weight? Does he want her to catch up to his boy? Kamala will always be attractive. Trump will always look like a pumpkin that’s going bad. Jesse will always look like Beaker from Sesame street.
