The 2024 election is being driven straight into the gutter by the Republican nominee, because that venue, and Fox News, are his natural habitats. He can only thrive in a MAGA-encased situation. The narrative totally gets away from him and he falls to pieces unless he’s in a heavily controlled, pro-Trump, environment. So, naturally, that’s why he’s endeaving to force a debate in that venue. Where that situation stands for the moment is that Trump has demanded that Kamala debate him on September 4, in front of, and I quote, “A FULL ARENA!” on Fox News, and Harris HQ has replied that the September 10 date was agreed to, on ABC, and that’s what she’s sticking to. Former President Donald Trump said Saturday he would not debate Vice President Kamala Harris at all if she did not agree to attend a new Fox News debate next month, the latest in the public jockeying between the campaigns over when, if ever, the two candidates will meet on stage.
“I’ll see her on September 4th or, I won’t see her at all,” the former president wrote Saturday on his Truth Social platform.

A source familiar with the matter told CNN that it was the source’s understanding that ABC News would provide airtime to whichever candidate showed up – even if that ended up being just Harris. ABC News did not respond to CNN’s request for comment.
Trump’s call for a debate on his terms, with a “full arena audience,” continues the back-and-forth between the two campaigns as they try to shape the narrative around a potential debate, trading taunts and digs along the way. Trump has attacked his opponent’s intelligence, writing on his social media platform that Harris, who is also a former US senator and California attorney general, doesn’t have the “mental capacity” to debate him.

The public exchanges also call into question whether there will be a debate at all. Trump cruised to the Republican nomination earlier this year despite his refusal to appear at any of his party’s primary debates, arguing that he didn’t need to attend because he was a known entity and was leading in the polls. He has made similar remarks in recent days when asked about a debate with Harris.
The former president said Friday night that the ABC News debate could not happen because Biden was no longer the nominee and also because Trump is currently involved in litigation against the network.
Trump filed a defamation suit against ABC News and George Stephanopoulos in March after the host of “The Week” said the former president had been found guilty of “rape” in an interview with Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina. Trump has been found liable for sexual assault and defamation of writer E. Jean Carroll. In January, a court awarded her $83.3 million in damages.
The defamation suit is going nowhere. The truth is an absolute defense to defamation. Trump was found civilly liable for the sexual assault of E. Jean Carroll and the word “rape” is even entered into the Congressional Record. Ted Lieu asked that it be entered. So this “conflict of interests” nonsense is just that, it’s nonsense.

I guess it remains to be seen whether Trump will be able to persuade Harris to debate him on his terms, inside his Fox bubble. The bubble is crucial. Every time Trump steps outside the bubble, the Libertarian Convention and the National Association Of Black Journalists being two glaring examples, he gets in trouble. In a crowd of normal, (meaning non-MAGA in this case) people, he finds out how loathed he really is. He can’t have that and he certainly can’t have it televised.
Harris should respond that “Fox News is not a credible news organization, it is entertainment as stated by the company lawyers in a court of law, and besides, I can think of 787 million other reasons just off of the top of my head why they are not credible”

How about she comes to the podium carrying an artist’s portfolio bag, and wearing an earbud radio link to a fact-checking team in a van outside the building that’s tuned into the live stream? The portfolio bag holds a 16×20 inch sign saying “HE’S LYING (AGAIN!)”, and she can hold it in front of her microphone as cued by the fact-checkers while responding to moderators’ questions and statements. The cameras may try to swing away from the sign, but will then also put the VP out of view, and the audience of Trombies will still see it. She can also get in some zingers on her own. I’d expect Fux to put Harris Faulkner on the panel, and VP Harris can ask her about selling out POC to work for those scum.
