We all thought she was an idiot, put in place to restate the Trump and Republican line. They wanted to make it official, so it had to be said by her, too. This time, however, it sounded like a personal remark. Wow, did she get hammered for what you will soon see. From AlterNet:
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is under fire after alleging that Democrats are catering to “Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals.” “The Democrat Party’s main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals,” Leavitt said on Fox News on Thursday afternoon. “That is who the Democrat Party is catering to — not the Trump administration, and not the White House, and not the Republican Party, who is standing up for law-abiding Americans, not just across the country, but around the world.”
By the way? She never offered a reason for *why* Democrats were doing this. And she did not say why the Democratic Party should cater to Trump or the Republican Party. Hmmmm. This makes us wonder just what the hell she was trying to do. The Republican Party around the world? *snort* Of course, *Trump* can, and does, offer up some strong information (see: ended 10 wars). We all know they make accusations without any proof. This one’s a doozy.
Critics blasted the Press Secretary. //// Former Obama senior advisor Dan Pfeiffer wrote: “This s– is so f– dangerous and everyone on the Republican side just nods along.” //// Human Rights Campaign National Press Secretary Brandon Wolf asked, “Remember when they pretended to want to ‘turn down the temperature’?” Veteran journalist John Harwood called Leavitt’s remarks “disgusting b–.” //// Dylan Williams, Vice President for Government Affairs for the Center for International Policy warned: “How is this anything other than deliberate incitement that risks leading to deadly violence?”
Deliberate incitement, indeed. This is going to rocket up assaults because some yahoo will get it in his head that his neighbor is a Democrat and goes after him or her. This is classic Trump style redirection, as in, try to get people to shut up about Epstein. It hasn’t worked for more than a day or three, and then it comes back because everyone wants the damn files. The obfuscation isn’t working for very long these days. The excuses get weaker.
So KKKaroline is sent out to mouth the party line and get mad when someone asks her a question she doesn’t want to answer, and goes on the offensive. We’ve seen that a couple of times. So she takes the question and rephrases it to make a question back at the newsperson so *they* have to answer – except they already know the answer. So it goes back and forth. She gets mad and starts raging until the time for questions is up and there *still* isn’t an answer. How about a few more quotes, and then we’ll close.
“This is INCREDIBLY dangerous framing,” declared author Carey Lohrenz, the first female F-14 Tomcat pilot, “and should make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, or Independent. And it’s also patently false.” //// Attorney Aaron Reichlin-Melnick noted that Hillary Clinton’s “‘Deplorables’ was a scandal for years and she wasn’t even in the government yet. This is the White House Press Secretary, whose salary is paid by the American public.” //// Journalist Ahmed Baba wrote: “In a sane reality, this insane comment would’ve ended the career of any other press secretary. In this reality, it’s just another Thursday. But when the Trump fever breaks, and it will break, these people will have to reckon with the digital footprints of their own depravity.”
That reckoning cannot come fast enough, no matter how much we wish it would. But, the good thing is that we can see everything the “other side” is trying to do. It’s a “rinse and repeat” of Trump’s first term, now with Project 2025 for your cringing next read. This time, we know. Hang onto that. We know.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

This is America…the country that pissed on its dead heroes TWICE!!! What reckoning? A book tour and a consultant job…or some other lucrative nazi gig. Reckoning…you mean like the ones Trump has endured. Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.
No, it is used to hide something. Ongoing somethings. Things we’ll *know* are there just by the level of the denials. I won’t even get started on our heroes because it would ne a rant.
they seem like they want a civil war then obliterate people who don’t go along with them
I very much doubt the Epstein files will be unredacted and the ones with Trump’s name and anyone else’s name he’s trying to protect will be long gone and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Certainly not the supreme court. They probably had a bon fire by now
About SCOTUS, I just wish an attorney arguing a case before the Court doesn’t just preface his initial argument with, “I really don’t understand why I’m even here today as prior cases argued before this Court have shown that certain members of this Court are absolutely willing to simply abandon their Constitutional duties and obligations and let the Executive Branch run roughshod over the very idea of what the Judicial Branch is supposed to do. I cannot imagine any of the esteemed Justices who’ve consistently ruled in favor of the Current President ruling in a similar fashion for President Obama or President Biden when they were accused of ‘overstepping’ the bounds of what is permitted for the Executive Branch. This speech may sound like defeatist talk but I truly hope that the members of this esteemed Court will listen to it and reflect on their own culpability in allowing the Current President to extend such overreaches of the Executive Branch’s Constitutional authority before they essentially just acknowledge they are CEDING their jobs.”
DAMN that would be good to see!!! The backlash would be interesting (ha). As you said, I feel we’ll not see it in our lifetmes, but ohhhh to be a fly on the wall of that courtroom if it ever did.
Unfortunately, probably did have a bonfire, much as I hate to think about that. They could have made it easy and redacted his name from everything and anything (see: 1000 agents earlier this year) and sent them out that way. It CYAs Trump. We may be screaming uselessly but I still keep screaming anyhow til there is something released about it.
