Joe Scarborough and I Want to Know Why Mike Pence Is Afraid of Robert Mueller?

Joe Scarborough went on a bit of a rant (below) this morning, long overdue, about why it is that our boy scout Vice President is out stumping to get Mueller to end the investigation, like he is trying-out for a Fox News evening slot. This is our god-fearing Vice President interviewing with Andrea Mitchell:

“Our administration has been fully cooperating with the special counsel, and we’ll continue to, What I think is that it’s been about a year since this investigation began. Our administration has provided more than a million documents. We’ve fully cooperated in it, and in the interest of the country, I think it’s time to wrap it up.”

“I would very respectfully encourage the special counsel and his team to bring their work to completion,”

Where to begin?

First of all, one year is not a long time when one is speaking of investigating an alleged major crime ring spread across three continents and banks in at least four countries. Second, the Vice President has a bit of a strange idea as to what “cooperation” looks like, because last I heard, the President is refusing to talk to Robert Mueller, which is sort of the antithesis of “cooperation.” Trump’s refusal to speak to Robert Mueller is a serious reason to continue the investigation because it is not normal. A president of the United States refusing to assist in an investigation into wrongdoing? Reagan answered questions on Iran-Contra, Clinton spoke to Ken Starr, but this administration is cooperating, are you kidding me? Last, calling for the end of the investigation, impugning the FBI, calling Mueller out as someone running a witch-hunt is cooperation?

So, what gives, Mike?

I’m asking for a friend. Joe Scarborough would also very much like to know why it is that you, sir, suddenly have a jones to get this done.

“I think it is a fair time to start asking this question: What did Mike Pence know and when did he know it?” Scarborough said. “Mike Pence is an honorable man, Mike Pence says that Gen. (Michael) Flynn lied to him. Really? Did he? Is this the way Mike Pence wants this investigation to begin and then end prematurely before we get the truth to all the questions?”

“I mean, Mike Pence has been claiming that he was just out in the dark and that he was just this clueless, hapless Indiana hoosier that Donald Trump and the rest of the White House said nothing to,” Scarborough said. “But you’ve just got to start asking yourself, if Mike Pence wants to kill an investigation that is pursuing how the Russians tried to undermine American democracy in 2016, my gosh, makes me sad to say this, Mike, but I guess we have to start asking the question why does Mike Pence want to kill this investigation? What did Mike Pence though about Gen. Flynn? Was he lied to or is Mike Pence the one who has been lying to us all this time?”

Heavens, Mike Pence, lying to us?

As we ponder the question, let us recall that Donald Trump would not have known Mike Pence from football coach Mike  Price prior to the 2016 election. The only reason that Mike Pence is Vice President of the country today is that Paul Manafort, a person universally seen now as a corrupt Russian-agent, perhaps the strongest American link between Trump and Putin, picked Mike Pence to be Vice President.

Okay, okay, Manafort didn’t make the pick, Putin did, and Paul Manafort engineered a fake FAA safety issue to keep the Trump campaign plane on the ground long enough to arrange the interview, an interview that Manafort seemed to “know” would go well. How did he know? How did Manafort come to see Mike Pence as the man they needed as number 2 on the ticket? Remember now, Manafort thought Russia-first in all situations.

Indeed, it is past time to look into what Mike Pence knew throughout this deal, what he knows now and why he is now obstructing the investigation. In a real nation, with real laws, it would be flirting with obstruction of justice for the Vice President to give a speech in which he implies the Special Counsel needs to “end” its work. That sounds like intimidation, a threat.

What is Mike Pence hiding? Is he just being a good soldier and doing what Trump tells him to do? Or, is there another level? Is there a reason that Putin wanted Pence as Trump’s number two? Putin is one smart mother ffff, he would have to know that Trump was less than 50-50 on finishing a first term. And, no way would Putin invest all that time and money to purchase a U.S. president without having a back-up plan. What does Putin have on Mike Pence? Video tape of Mike holding another woman’s hand over dinner? It wouldn’t take much. Maybe it is time for Mike Pence to answer some questions.
