Here’s an interesting hypothesis and I personally don’t agree with it, but I share it here because it never hurts to cover all the possible bases. James Carville says that Donald Trump is going to protect himself against criminal prosecution by resigning in November (presuming a shellacking in the election) and then have J.D. Vance pardon him from all criminal prosecution.

No, I don’t know if Carville is being interviewed at home or at a hospital or what. It seems a big excessive to me that he couldn’t lose the pillow for just a short interview, but the pillow is the least weird thing about this prediction.
I don’t see Trump ever voluntarily relinquishing power. That’s to begin with. And I don’t see him elevating J.D. Vance (or anybody) over himself, unless situations develop which we have not yet seen.
Might Trump resign in order to not have to deal with Iran? I seriously doubt it. Trump is blithely lying his way through that conflict, claiming on one day that there was a deal on the table until Iran pulled out of it suddenly and claiming the next day that we have all kinds of munitions to fight the war with, and anybody who says differently will be “hunted down” and charged with “treason” for “leaking” state secrets.
That’s Trump’s MO, to lie continuously and to hang onto power. I don’t see that changing. But maybe James Carville is seeing visions in his bedpan and knows better. I suppose anything is possible.
Carvilles hypothesis is a mixed bag.
Capitulation is def not in you know who’s lexicon, particularly when it opens the door for legally enforcable ramifications secondary to those files he denies he’s included in.
