On April 28, Congressman Shri Thanedar introduced articles of impeachment against Donald J Trump, the man WHO PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE, for high crimes and misdemeanors. He did it too soon with a Republican majority on both sides of Congress. We already know how many things they’ve let slide. I’m not sure enough of them are horrified that this would have a chance of flipping votes. And there’s that “absolute immunity” to worry about. However, let’s at least take a look at the list he invoked. From Shri’s website:
The resolution includes seven articles of impeachment outlining a range of constitutional violations:
Obstruction of Justice and Abuse of Executive Power: Including denial of due process, unlawful deportations, defiance of court orders, and misuse of the Department of Justice.
Usurpation of Appropriations Power: For dismantling congressionally established agencies and impounding federal funds.
Abuse of Trade Powers and International Aggression: Including imposing economically damaging tariffs and threatening military invasion against sovereign nations.
Violation of First Amendment Rights: Through retaliatory actions against critics, media, and attorneys exercising constitutionally protected speech.
Creation of an Unlawful Office: By establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”) and unlawfully empowering Elon Musk to unilaterally violate the Constitution.
Bribery and Corruption: Involving dismissing criminal cases, soliciting foreign emoluments, and extortionate settlements for personal and political gain.
Tyrannical Overreach: Seeking to consolidate unchecked power, erode civil liberties, and defy constitutional limits on presidential authority.
Those look pretty unarguable to me. After all, I’ve seen it in real time. We *all* have seen it in real time. I’m just really afraid that it won’t go anywhere. HOWEVER, when Democrats flip Congress next year, THEN we will have a better chance of making this possible. It’s going to be a fight, but worth it! We also have a budget bill to enact, and that’s going to take some fighting – for the Republicans. They have to get it through their own people and just by looking at the caucuses, ha, have fun Mike Johnson!
So let’s move on to tRump’s reaction. Are you ready for some rampant stupidity? Oh, good. Here we go!
Trump mocked Thanedar, saying, “They did it again. Some guy that I never heard of (hey) John James, is he a congressman?” as he turned to Michigan GOP Rep. John James. “This guy, he said, ladies and gentlemen, I am going to start the impeachment of Donald Trump. What the hell did I do?” “Here we go again. They want to impeach me, this lunatic is up, actually, I had the television way down. I said to the great first lady, listen, did I just hear I was being impeached again?” Trump said.
How could he hear it if the television was way down? Oh, wait, I know the answer. He’s *Donald Trump*. Of *course* he hears all, day or night. And he damn well knows what he’s done. He just thinks he is the god of all, and controls *everything*. He doesn’t accept that half of the country thinks he’s a lunatic. Even MAGA-ites who voted for him know there’s something wrong and they say so, but still think he’s wonderful! I don’t get it. I just don’t get it. Actually, I’m glad I don’t. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what happens even though we know it’s going nowhere. Will anyone else be brave enough to speak up? Those who aren’t up for re-election next year might be. Anyone who might hesitate because of the specter of being “primaried” doesn’t count because, well, threatened, likely by Elon Muskrat. Can someone make *that* man go away? Wishful thinking, I know. But anyhow, this still should be fascinating to watch. Don’t touch that dial. Thanks for sticking with me!
*****And now, please be so kind as to read a very special request from our awesome boss******
Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

The imeachment bill itself could be a rallying point for the democratic campaign. Want to impeach Trump? Vote Democrat!
That’s what I’m hoping for – Democrats to wake up and USE THIS.
Even if he is not convicted, we’ll get to add a third asterisk to his name.
