Which he is, sliding more towards a baby with the nuclear codes every day. He hates having to answer probing questions. He wants to boast and brag and have the media lob softball questions that are easy to answer so he can boast and brag some more. We won’t really get started on the temper tantrums. Oh, and bonus points for knowing which song gave me the title of this piece. Just for fun. From Raw Story:
President Donald Trump snapped at CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Saturday morning over being asked about the price tag of his White House ballroom, the cost of which has increased by at least $100 million since first announced. “Caitlin Collin’s of Fake News CNN, always Stupid and Nasty, asked me why the new Ballroom was costing more money than originally thought one year ago,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, spelling Collins’ name incorrectly.
Hmmm. Donnie is getting a bit defensive here. He wants Americans to think about his “yuge” beautiful ballroom, not what it’s going to cost or how long it takes to build. He wants a ballroom (which will be bigger than the White House WTAF). He wants to talk about how wonderful it will be for the US, and not how much it’s going to cost. We have to know that we will be paying for some of it because it’s a certainty that donors will not fund the whole thing, and Donnie won’t use his illegal, grifted money, oh no, he won’t.
“I said because it is going to be double the size, and the quality of finishes and interiors has been brought to the highest level. Also, the column SPAN has been substantially increased for purposes of viewing. It is actually under budget and ahead of schedule, as my jobs always are. It’s just much bigger and more beautiful than originally planned.” Trump’s White House ballroom – a 90,000 square-foot luxury event space, was reportedly designed in a “hurried process,” with some design documents apparently showing a staircase leading to nowhere and colliding windows. And, despite Trump’s claim to the contrary, the project is behind schedule, having originally been slated to break ground in September.
What a vanity project. Ugh. We can be 99% certain it’s not going to be finished before he leaves, in whichever fashion, as long as he *does* leave. We lost the East Wing for this monstrosity. It would be better to have that than some man’s overinflated monument to his supposed importance. Shall we call cowflops on this, preferably anywhere he goes? The man has NO taste. He thinks gaudy is beautiful. And he doesn’t give a damn about anything that might be (and is, in this case) important to the people of the country. How many presidents are spinning in their graves because of this?
Trump has boasted that the project is entirely funded by private donors, some of which had been omitted from the Trump administration’s reports on who and which entities are funding the project, such as the investment company BlackRock – which donated $2.5 million toward the project – or a major investor in TikTok’s parent company ByteDance. “Interestingly, and seldom reported, there are no taxpayer dollars involved,” Trump continued. “It is being fully paid for by private donations. FAKE NEWS CNN, and the guy who runs the whole corrupt operation that owns it, is one of the worst in the business. Their ratings are so low that they’re not even counted or relevant anymore. MAGA!!!”
If someone can tell me how this … thing is going to Make America Great Again, please enlighten me. I do not understand. Trump wants this edifice when the economy is going to hell, jobs are decreasing, RFK Jr is killing HHS, inflation is out of control, and Stephen Miller is a Nazi. This is MAPA – Make America Poor Again, and MASA – Make America Stupid Again. We are at the end of the gangplank, and the slightest nudge will sink us.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
