A couple of Republican politicians in Texas actually showed up to Donald Trump’s cult convention in Waco, Texas today. No sign of Pete Sessions, and this is his congressional district. He wants no part of it.

And we don’t see Greg Abbott in attendance. Maybe he’ll show up later and put in a cameo appearance.

Likewise no John Cornyn or Ted Cruz. I frankly find that surprising from Cruz. I thought he would be here to bend the knee. But hey, there is one high roller and that is Lt. Governor Dan Patrick.

And here’s another Texas government official. This is Texas Agriculture Commission Sid Miller and he sounds like he’s perfectly ready to escalate Culture War into Civil War. In fact, he sounds aching to do so.

If you hear an echo, that’s because this is what Ulysses S. Grant said. “Whatever may have been my political opinions before, I have one sentiment now: that is, we have a government and laws and a flag and they must all be sustained. There are but two parties now, traitors and patriots. And I want hereafter to be ranked with the latter.”

This is an interesting conundrum. We’re in agreement that there are only two parties and what those parties are called. The conflict is: Which party contains what population? Who is who?

And here’s a QAnon fruit fly who reads a militant poem. She’s ready to fight, Captain America suit and all.

Both of them are spinning in their graves, no question in my mind.

You’ve got the flavor of this event. Trump just flew overhead in Trump Force One, while the theme from Top Gun played on the ground. Soon he takes stage. It should be lit.

  1. Well, it IS patriots vs traitors, but he’s not on the side he thinks he is. tRump needs to be locked away for everyone’s safety, not out there burning down the country and stoking insurrections. Lock him up, at Guantanamo, preferably. Or deep six him ala bin Laden.

  3. I wonder if any of these clowns have ever had a real gun in their face, or been in any kind of environment that bristled with violence? I know the answer. Playing tough doesn’t make you tough. Trump plays tough and they join in playing tough. Playing solider from your winnebago doesn’t mean you’re willing to fight and possibly die for what you think you believe. Fact.

  4. Real patriots don’t have to convince you of that. Only bigots preface their words with, “I’m not a racist…” I believe people’s actions, not their words.
