Y’all, HOOOOWEEEEE did Rachel Maddow get GOING on her June 2 show, and it is SO WORTH IT! MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow unloaded on Trump-era immigration agents while blasting what she described as a bungled and militarized ICE raid in San Diego that left the community stunned. “This was bananas,” Maddow said during the opening minutes of her show Monday night. According to the MSNBC host, “multiple clown cars” of agents in “full battle rattle with helmets and long guns and flak jackets and goggles and masks” stormed a San Diego restaurant on Friday.
Clown cars bahahahahaha but okay, that’s a what the hell already, don’t you think? Full gear for arrests? HUH???!!! Come on now, Dress To Excess. That’s not a way to be successful. And where was Ice Barbie? No signs of her, apparently. Hmmmm.
“Looking like they were going to rappel out of helicopters into the Tora Bora cave complex to fight al-Qaeda,” Maddow told viewers. “These guys, dressed like this, run into a neighborhood Italian restaurant and reportedly handcuffed the entire crew working at the restaurant, everybody inside.” She said the raid ended with busboys and waiters arrested while stunned neighbors demanded answers.
This still isn’t making any sense. They weren’t going after known criminals or anything remotely like that. They were going after illegals. In full battle dress. This is NOT a good look for ICE. And again, where was ICE Barbie? Was she there but hidden in the full battle dress?
I can hardly wait to hear her have to answer for this. With as much as this has made the news, she’s going to be called on it. I’m figuring there will be lots of erms, errs, and uhs. And I’m figuring she’s going to be embarrassed, which means tRump will be embarrassed, and he will not like that. Or he might not say anything at all. It’s probably best that way.
“Unsurprisingly, the whole neighborhood came out to say, ‘What the heck are you doing? Is this ‘Red Dawn?’ Are we being invaded? Wolverines! This is what you’re doing to save us from the terrible menace of, like, the nice waiter at our favorite local restaurant?” “Trump’s immigration agents had had no idea what to do,” she added. Maddow concluded that the display in San Diego was “a show of weakness and cluelessness,” and that the raid went “horribly wrong because this federal agency is clearly totally untrained for this work and is clearly out of its depth.”
Gee, ya think? I was under the obviously mistaken impression that ICE knew what they were doing, because it seems pretty simple on how to arrest an illegal immigrant. Wouldn’t they have done their research? *IF* there was possible danger, wear your vests, but not full combat dress for heaven’s sake. The workers in a restaurant really don’t require that sort of rig. And rig, it was. I’m trying to cut back on my quotes, but I think you deserve to have this last bit shown to you. “Ultimately, these Trump immigration agents dressed up like soldiers, they made this San Diego street corner look like they were in a war zone because they were so completely unprepared and untrained and flummoxed by all of the neighbors and passersby, understandably yelling at them and telling them to leave people alone,” Maddow said. “They were so scared and so unprepared and so untrained for this completely predictable situation, that they set off multiple what appeared to be these flashbang smoke grenades (video here) against the random neighbors in San Diego, against the people on the street who were outraged by what they had done, who were demanding that they identify themselves for one, and that for two, they get out.” She added of Trump’s nationwide immigration crackdown: “Everyone in America hates it. Everyone hates what they’re doing.”
Oh, and I just found out one of the agents was carrying a *grenade launcher*! What the hell?! This is not a bunker! Soooo this is not a good look for ICE. In fact, it’s a very BAD look. And they had no identification? Yea they’re about to drop into a cave. ICE apparently has no idea what they’re doing anymore, and it shows.
It’s one thing to arrest the criminal illegals. It’s another to arrest someone who had a good job, as by the comments of the neighbors above, and was a good citizen, even though they *were/are* illegals. They came here for a better life. They’re not about to do something to endanger that! With this being all over the news, where is ICE Barbie to explain it all? Seriously! Well, that would be, of course, nowhere to be found.
