Part of me wants to say ICE has committed an “Oopsie” by locking up one of their own in their own ICE jail. Another part says although he was arrested for beating his girlfriend (again) they didn’t want him dealing with county jail conditions and moved him to their place so that could give him Ghislaine Maxwell treatment. In any case, ICE Agent (a supervisor) John Saxon is behind bars (maybe sort of) on 400k bond. A neighbor witnessed him abusing his partner. After over twenty times responding to incidents police finally had grounds to arrest this dirtbag.
According to this article from The Daily Beast on December 5 police responded to yet another call, the 22nd in the past year-and-a-half. This time they had a witness who apparently saw Saxon choking his victim in the hall of their apartment building and LE could see visible bruises around her neck. Even though the victim isn’t cooperating (I can see why she’d be terrified for her life if she did) the cops had enough for an arrest. I’d say that since his bond is set at 400k documentation of other incidents was allowed into evidence.
The more I read the more disgusted I got. Saxon was in his forties when he began his relationship and abuse of the victim who was only 18 at the time. It seems to have started off badly as she suffered a broken nose back in 2018. Things got worse, including according to the linked piece a broken pelvis in April. As I said she’s not cooperated, and this is a frighteningly common thing for women who are involved with abusers who are sworn LE. They all too often look out for each other by looking the other way or even applying some intimidation of their own to back up their buddy.
I can’t help but wonder if Cincinnati authorities have, as is taking place in other jurisdictions had their fill of ICE and it’s actions. Slapping the cuffs on this guy and charging him seems to have gotten Saxon’s boss’s attention. It also led to them getting involved in the case, and adding their own charges of lying to federal investigators. More importantly they took custody of him and put him in what is said to be the most notorious ICE facility in Ohio.
Again, I can’t help but wonder if the federal charges are a ruse. By that I mean using them as a means to ultimately protect Saxon by federalizing his case. Foul it to the point where state charges won’t stick, and then dismiss the federal charges or once the state is cut out of things have Trump pardon him. Hey, a serial wife/girlfriend beater is Trump’s kind of guy! Hell, he could wind up with a cushy security gig at Bedminster or Mar A Lago!

Well, I supposed that’s true if best is defined as disgusting, nasty criminals who have a load of toxic excrement in their brain cavities and where their heart is supposed to be. As we keep saying of ICE, the cruelty is the point and they need vile, cruel people that get their rocks off inflicting said cruelty to do what Trump, Stephen Miller and Noem want their immigration ‘enforcement’ agents to do.
ICE slings a line of bullshit about going after ‘the worst of the worst.’ Well, this time they’ve actually got a worst of the worst asshole who while in his forties started beating on a teenager he wanted to have under his control. I shudder to think of the sexual abuse she’s also suffered at his hands. Still, I can’t shake the feeling that ICE took custody of this guy so they could ease HIS suffering. Instead of a cell, turn some office into a space with a decent bed, a table, a TV (with full cable package) and provide special meals.
I wish Cincinnati LE had refused to transfer custody. All that domestic abuse makes for a strong case and this asshat deserves to get his butt handed to him in state court and do time. But he’s ICE and they are I truly believe trying to look out for him despite all the years of violence he visited on a woman starting when she was still a TEENAGER! It’s even worse. This guy isn’t just a Supervisor. He’s a two decade ICE agent and was even part of a group that received an award from then DHS Secretary Mayorkas! WHAT THE F**K?
Maybe that award made him feel like he could get away with unleashing his despicable, true, violent nature. It was only a couple of years later his abuse of the woman he’s in jail for beating started. Then again, maybe (probably) he was that way all along but no longer took much pains to hide it. A longtime agent with a reasonably prestigeous award on the wall would make a lot of peers look the other way.
Well, sunshine is the best disinfectant and it’s time to start shining the light on the personal life abuses (and you know there are lots of them) of ICE agents as their actions while on duty.
