How Can People Like This Exist?

This guy … words fail me. We ran across this ‘gem’ of a story, and it’s the first thing to go up for me today. He’s 98% worse than Trump and ICE combined. Rage is the word today. Pure rage. People like this still exist. People like this need the same thing to happen to them. I can’t be impartial to try and talk about this, no, not at all. With thanks to thepinknews.com:

Tennessee Republican Monty Fritts has been widely condemned this week after he openly called for the state to execute the parents and guardians of transgender youngsters. The 62-year-old gubernatorial candidate made the shocking remarks during a guest spot on a Christian Nationalist podcast earlier this week. A clip shared by the anti-fascist group Right-Wing Watch on Thursday (29 January) sees Fritts not only call for the state-funded execution of trans and non-binary children’s parents, but of anyone who helps to provide life-saving gender-affirming care to under-18s, such as doctors.

What the holy FCK. What the FCK. This guy is for real. He really believes what he’s saying. Maybe he should start a new variation of the KKK or Nazis because this truly is one of the, if not THE, most disgusting things I have ever read. Execute people. He wants to *execute* them. What rock has he been hiding under??!!

“I think we need a law in Tennessee that would allow for capital punishment for those who commit an assault on the sanctity of life,” he said in the 40-second clip. ”I think that anyone who would try to disfigure a child through hormones or surgery, you might be eligible to capital punishment. “I know that’s gonna make people’s ears ring, but that’s a gross, great sin,” he said. In the US, gender-affirming care for trans youth typically refers to puberty suppressant medication, commonly called puberty blockers. They are widely considered to be safe and, in some cases, life-saving among most major medical institutions.

Safe and life-saving. So would he rather have the children lose their lives instead? Would he kidnap children and send them to camps to make them become ‘normal’? He obviously hasn’t thought this through, and never will. It seems he doesn’t give a damn about what *their* wishes are. Gotta love stereotypical white male behavior. He’s a RWNJ’s RWNJ. But wait! There’s *MORE*!

Fritts’ comments were made in reaction to backlash that arose earlier this month after he was heard in a leaked audio recording calling for capital punishment to be used against people who had undergone or provided an abortion. The GOP lawmaker has garnered numerous controversies since September last year, when he announced his intention to run in the 2026 Tennessee gubernatorial election. Less than a month following his announcement, Fritts faced backlash for opposing an expansion to the state’s private-school scholarship program to reach more applicants from lower-income backgrounds.

There is not one damn thing good about this guy. He’s sitting on his pedestal, so safe and secure, talking about literally killing people if they don’t do what he wants (or doesn’t want). Is the rest of his family like this? It would be a good idea for people to consider moving out of state, given this potential governor’s arrogance. Violence is not the answer, but damn if we shouldn’t hope something happens to him. Take a long walk off a short pier comes to mind. I hope this wasn’t too incoherent because yes, I am *raging*.

We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love.
