Well, Mike Johnson apparently can’t count very well. Or is even more feckless than his predecessor, “Kraven” Kevin McCarthy. In a spectacular fail carried live on at least some TV networks the attempt to approve articles of impeachment against DHS Secretary Mayorkas went down in flames. True Hindenburg stuff. Johnson, and MTG who was soooo looking forward to strutting her stuff in a Senate trial (she’d gotten herself named as a “Manager” for the proceeding) have to be crushed. As for Trump, given the day he’s already had if someone didn’t have a “knockout shot” to jab him with when it became apparent the impeachment vote might fail…well, it’s a safe bet he’d already shattered every ketchup bottle in his tacky resort.
I’m waiting for word from those near Emeritus Speaker Nancy Pelosi after the vote total on the resolution to impeach Mayorkas was announced. SHE would never, especially given the narrow majority she had to work with have allowed a vote without being damned sure she had the numbers to pass what she wanted. Johnson it seems had a higher opinion of his “leadership” abilities than was warranted.
Apparently some of his caucus wasn’t afraid to cross him. Or Trump for that matter. As I already indicated you just know he was watching the vote. As de facto House Speaker this is one of many things he expected Johnson to get done. And Johnson couldn’t do it. Maybe now Trump knows how his Master Vlad felt when he (Trump) couldn’t wreck NATO. And why Pootie has been rather cool towards him for some years now.

That’s a best case scenario folks. MTG is probably fuming and might just go ahead and file her motion to vacate the chair this week. Yes she’s that stupid because Johnson will have two ugly choices. Get tossed out like McCarthy did and a month or two from now resigning and scrambling to replace his Congressional salary and perks, or cutting a deal with Hakeem Jeffries to keep his job. And you know what that price will be. Johnson can take his screwing now, or down the road (primaried probably) but at least in the latter case he’ll have some lead time to tend to pesky things I just mentioned.
Right now he’s probably suffering serious burns on his body from wherever he carries his cell phone. Because if Trump wasn’t sedated or if aides didn’t at least take his phone away he was burning up Johnson’s phone with calls to the point it melted. Little Mikey might be feckless but I’m sure he knew better than to accept a call from Trump!
A day ago things were doom and gloom about polling showing Biden was in trouble. Today? My have things turned around for Trump and MAGA! If SCOTUS doesn’t dick around and next week simply issues one of those one line denials of Cert on Trump’s appeal we could be looking at a J6 trial in late May/early June. For certain this summer, well before the “magic” DOJ window for stopping work that might affect an election. Either way, even if SCOTUS can scratch up four Justices to vote to take the case, it takes FIVE of them to approve a STAY of work at the trial level.
Trump and MAGA were already doing the impossible of melting down and blowing up at the same time. But they had this impeachment vote coming that would be a “consolation prize.” Fox and other Right Wing outlets could have and would have spun that into the “story of the day” but now? It’s only eight pm where I live, but I’m going to avoid looking out my windows because I don’t want to get blinded by the flashes equivalent to nuke going off that are coming. Personally, all that matters to me is Johnson is in deep sh*t tonight. I’m loving it.

Three of those s.c. “justices” owe their jobs to dingleberry. Two, alito and thomas, not only have their noses so far up dingleberry’s ass his colon is being tickled, they also want nothing and no one to muck up the s.c.’s ability to get bribes from the wealthy without consequences–and that IS what those travel junkets, house purchases, and the rest is-it is out and out bribery. I’ve a feeling coming up with the required number of judges, what is it 3 or 4, to say the s.c. will take the case is not going to be particularly difficult. Sure, they might just want to be rid of the ass and therefore won’t take it up but on the other hand, having dems being so interested in their corruption that jobs might be lost. Having a dic in the oval might be an answer to all their prayers. just a thought.

The republicons got what they wanted in the immigration bill and walked away. pathetic.
