Majorities of those voting by mail support Biden: 71 % in Nevada, 67% in Ohio, and 79% in Pennsylvania.

Fighting foreign trolls is a necessary but insufficient condition for ensuring an election is free of mass disinformation and confusion. The problem is that President Trump is doing what the St. Petersburg office drones could have only dreamed of in 2016: using the world’s most powerful megaphone to sow chaos and confusion about the voting process and de-legitimize American democracy to audiences at home and abroad, spreading lies about voting by mail and inventing and telling followers to break the law and vote twice. The 2020 vote is shaping up to be the most divisive, confusing, and contested election in decades, largely because of the president’s own conspiracy theorizing.
President Trump openly and without even the pretense of evidence has: falsely claimed that voting by mail will lead to massive fraud; admitted to trying to sabotage mail delivery in order to prevent supporters of his opponent from legally casting votes by mail; encouraged his followers to commit a felony and vote twice; lied about a fake plan by Nevada’s governor to “cheat on the ballots”; invented fake stories about Democratic governors sending “millions” of ballots to ineligible voters.
The steady stream of lies, intended to create the perception that any election result in which Trump loses is by definition illegitimate, has led left-wing political organizations, tech companies, and at least one state government to brace for the possibility of violence after a contested election result.
The one and only formula that we have to stop all this is to get such a decisive Biden victory up on the boards election night that Trump knows he won’t even get within cheating distance. Meanwhile, Trump plans to name a SCOTUS nominee Saturday and that battle will start raging, because that’s Trump’s ace in the hole — he thinks. He’s counting on a stacked court handing him a contested election. But that dream will vaporize if we get out the vote in sufficient numbers to where the “red mirage” doesn’t even have a chance to form.

If you look at what he has actually said: “Get rid of the ballots and you’ll have a very peaceful — there won’t be a transfer frankly. There’ll be a continuation.”
Note – he did NOT say ‘mail-in’ or ‘absentee’ ballots – just BALLOTS. If thit isn’t a statement that votes simply don’t matter, I don’t know what is.
Be very, VERY careful or you will end up with the ext election being similar to the Austrian plebiscite of 1938 where the Austrian people who rejected Anschluss by 60 – 40 percent in 1936 ‘voted’ 99.7% in favour (mark you voting was held under the watchful eyes of the SA, SS and Gestapo). The danger is that, at some stage, the second amendment, non-mask wearing, overweight Good Old Boys will be deputised to ‘supervise’ a referendum making that squatter on Pennsylvania Avenue ‘Leader of Greater America’
Any points I would have given for an original example must be deducted for indirectly invoking Nazi Germany. It rests on the assumption that Trump even wants to stay. He loses big enough and the pushback against his “cheaters!” whining sustained enough, the only thing he’ll be thinking of is staying out jail. And those “Good Ol’ Boys” are in for a nasty shock if they follow through like you say.
Knowing how a personality based fascist cult takes over a democratic republic is NEVER a waste of time. This is life & death, as was stopping the fascists in europe. I’m not even sure he’s a good traitor, Blue. I remain convinced that he has somehow screwed over Putin on something (my usual pick for that being the repeal of the Magnitsky Act, which still has most of Putin’s US assets on lockdown).
That is true about the big thing Putin wanted. However, he has facilitated the death of over 200K and the sickness of almost 6M.
He has also weakened our participation in NATO, withdrawn from the WHO and is undermining the public’s faith in the electoral process. He is still a pretty good errand boy.
Oh, c’mon, Cherl, that presupposes that Putin was able to take full advantage of such. As it stands, China is the only real beneficiary of Trump’s actions on that front…which does NOTHING to help Russia.

Yes! That would be ideal. Is there any data on whether never-voters are coming into this race? How many? We need data like that, but even more we need to convert non-voters.
If people who sat out the last election come out in droves, that will swing the election. It’s well known that a high voter turnout benefits Democrats.
I heard and read that if you put a stamp on your ballot envelope, it becomes first class mail and has to be delivered as such. I mailed mine in yesterday and put two stamps on it. Michigan also put on the back of the envelope a way to track your ballot. I will be checking daily starting Monday. Because the envelope to return your ballot was prepaid at third rate bulk mail, they can hold it back, by adding postage it will go right out. Biden 2020! One other thing I ordered something for my sister from California on the 16th of September and she hasn’t received it yet. Paid $ 12.00 for delivery too
