This is just not going well. Hegseth is driving people out in one way or another, and we are losing good military people that we desperately need. Hegseth does not know what he’s doing. He thinks he does, but not even close. It’s all a façade, and it’s tarnishing. He’s come through so many things thus far when we thought we would get rid of him, and now it’s really looking like he won’t be going anywhere. And Trump doesn’t like firing people because it means he failed. With gratitude for Raw Story:
Army Secretary Dan Driscoll is expected to be gone by the end of the year after he insisted just four months ago that he was going nowhere. Driscoll, a former Army Ranger and close friend of Vice President JD Vance, is expected to step down by year’s end, if not sooner, after months of bruising tension with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing people familiar with the discussions. Spokesmen for the Pentagon and Driscoll declined to comment.
So long, Dan Driscoll? Circumstances must have changed. If he was a Ranger, it must have been something super serious with Hegseth to have him decide to leave after all. Rangers aren’t lightweights. Hegseth *keeps* making an all-fired mess. Firing people or holding back promotions and so on and so forth (we could make quite a list) damn near every week. The only one who can slap him is Trump. Of course, if the Forever Iran War keeps going, Hegseth might actually bear the brunt of failure from Trump. Thus far, that seems to be a long shot.
Hegseth reportedly viewed Driscoll, once floated as his own potential replacement, as a threat, and after the White House told him he couldn’t fire the well-connected secretary, he went after Driscoll’s allies instead. In April, Hegseth abruptly forced out Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George in a phone call lasting less than a minute, with no explanation, while Driscoll was away in North Carolina.
Petey Boy managed something, although we may never know what it was. If he was worried about Driscoll taking his place, he somehow came up with something. So here we are with another waste of a good talent. This was old the first time Hegseth did something. Punted someone out the door and brought in Caine? The parameters of Google are not helpful.
But it seems that Petey Boy has a huge inferiority complex. He doesn’t want anyone to question him because he knows he’s a fraud. Some of us see this. Others may not. But getting rid of good talent that we desperately need? That’s just plain dumb.
And don’t forget about his wife. Hegseth drags her all over the place, as has been mentioned before ad nauseam. What is up with that? Has anyone figured out anything yet? Inquiring minds want to know. But it would be ironic if it’s to keep him from drinking. Hegseth is a flop and a failure.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
